Thanks to the Koreans for the great K and C. Do we need a contest for future K and C designs?
Something peaceful......

I have a feeling my predictions are gonna get absolutely wrecked and I'm not complaining!
That's the way it should be in a competition where almost everyone basically skates the same content. Excessive PCS and GOE along with lenient tech calling for predetermined skaters needs to end for the benefit of skating and especially the fans. The fans of every skater should be on the edge of their seat until the last skater has finished and been scored. No one in women's this season should have the luxury of just stay on your feet and its over.

I like so many girls from these entries that I couldn't say which podium I would be most happy with. but perhaps the success would be now most important for Lee Haein. (and Chen Hongyi min. in top10)

Predictions with this group are futile. That is why 4CCs is one of my fav comps and what makes it exciting as a comp. But its gonna be a good comp due to the great skaters we are gonna see. The only bad part is when a skater makes a mistake and is too hard on themselves for doing that. Hey, if it were easy, they would call it golf.

by the way, does anyone understand the language logic of ISU? Haein LEE but KIM Gilli. Kaori SAKAMOTO, but HIRAI Ami. but always Léna EKKER and Petra JÁSZAPÁTI (Hungarian names, the family name always comes first, as in Korea or Japan. and Hungarian is not the only ISU exception). ah, I'm so excited to ponder such silly things...

ISU and logic?

It's probably as simple as ISU just publishes things the way the skaters (or their teams) submitted information to them without further thinking, because they probably think whatever is submitted is the correct ones (or incorrect but its how skaters filled it).

Oh, this is a pet hate of mine too.

On Eurosport, their policy always seemed to be to do surname first for Chinese and Korean names, and surname second for Hungarian and Japanese names. And because I grew up watching Eurosport, that is the approach I have always taken too. But in recent years (i.e. since the Americans took over), surname second has been creeping in for Chinese and Korean names on Eurosport.

I can't remember where it was at, but I noticed recently that Chris had gone off on a tangent and was talking about a now retired skater (I can't remember who), and said their name in the correct order, but then immediately changed it to the incorrect order. And I remember thinking "that is totally against what you would have done when you were at Eurosport!"

So, I take it that the ISU have instructed them to always put surnames second, regardless of what way it is done in the culture of the person being talked about. Which is not right.

On the subject of Hungarian names, I hope a Hungarian gets in contact with Chris and tells him how to pronounce Balazs Nagy's name properly. Because I've come across other people with that surname, and Chris was no-where near right. I was really cringing at the way he was "Naggy-ing" yesterday.

Well, I suppose it could be worse. He could have been nagging like an old married couple!
