2025 Four Continents Women's Short Program

Hongyi started well - too bad about the fall! Regardless, I found the program very one-note and snoozy. She really needs to work on her performance ability. Some of her spins were awkward too.

Hongyi is off to a good start with her 3T-3T, then goes down on her rippon lutz. Her spins are good, great flexibility in her I-spin. I liked her step sequence very much, didn't expect it to be a level 2, but I don't have an eye for all the turns and clusters. Her dress is gorgeous, I love the shapes and colours.

Well, that was an experience for CHEN Hongyi (CHN).

I suppose she can just put it down to experience,

Sorry, I couldn't resist throwing in some puns.

In all seriousness, it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't bad.

Is it just me, or does her dress make you think of van Gogh's "Starry Night"? It's beautiful. And makes me think of Piper and Paul.

She goes into 3rd position.

Sofiya came back in the second half after the opening did not go as planned. The timing of the flip to the music was spot-on and would have been impressive if it had been a triple, but alas, it rather emphasised the pop instead. Gets the combination done on the next jumping pass. Fun little shoulder roll at the start of the step sequence. Really liked her final two spins. Super sparkly dress, I like the flower on the back.

It is so long since I last saw this programme, I had forgotten how much I enjoy it.

Oh, wait. It was 9 days ago. :p

And before anybody wonders, yes, I do still think of Lena Radionova every time I see this programme.

Unfortunately, it did not go quite as well as it did at the Asian Games.

She goes into 5th position.

Tara starts well with her 3F-2T, and follows up with a good 2A. Her change foot combo spin was nicely centred, looking at the ice. Lutz landing a little iffy, but I liked the twizzle out of it. She really takes the flying part seriously in the entry to her flying sit spin. Much drama in the step sequence, loved it. That was a good skate!
