Indeed, she is only 13 and probably one of the youngest at this stage. She is born in September 2011. Katrine just came up from novice - this isn´t just her first JGP, but her first competition as a junior skater! So that she was able to skate so well in the free at the first JGP with very little international experience, shows great promise. It was only last season she started to do triples in her programs, I remember her before as a promising skater, but only with double jumps. All though her spins needs work here, I like that variations and spins positions, it´s something different that I usually see from the other Norwegian skaters. Once she figures it out, she will have the whole package IMO and offer something unique and different. Not to mention her bold choice of music and dresses. She is practising triple lutz and flips, you can see it on her Instagram - katricequeen. Apparently she is half Russian? Her ISU bio says Russian/Norwegian skater. Her surname though sounds Norwegian. Something other I found out - according to Nora Bruckner, Katrine used to skate for Hungary before? I don´t know what ties she has to Hungary, but that is interesting. She started skating at 5 years. I think she will be senior eligble just in time for the next Olympic season?!
