Thanks for the results. I'm happy for Miyahara but I hope Risa can pull up and finish on the podium after the FS. Also I hope Keiji can keep his lead.

Congratulations Ryuju Hino. This could be called an upset. In the final group, everyone except Tanaka skated (almost) cleanly. The top 3 will be sent to junior worlds. Uno is surely for youth olympics. I'm not sure who is the next eligible one.

Oh Keiji... at least he did better than last year, a LOT better.

I was hoping that Fujisawa could do better this year too but she did even worse than last year

It's good that Miyahara didn't get any < but I worry about her small jumps, the international judges aren't so easy on her. Her strong performance here makes me happy though because usually she doesn't do her best at nats.

As for under-rotation and edge calls, I think they are rather strict even compared to international standards. Shoji's chronic UR on lutz/flip/loop are often overlooked internationally but they are 100% marked < at Japanese competitions in this season. She must be frustrated. On the other hand, I can imagine Miyahara has made utmost efforts to decrease URs.

It's quite clear now that the JSF is backing Miyahara as #1 for junior worlds, or even as a possible contender at Sochi olympics. Considering Murakami's lackluster GP results, Miyahara has a very good chance to win a medal at senior nationals.
