Wow, he doesn't have much of a Russian accent, I'm surprised...I thought he'd be a bit higher too. Presentation could be a bit improved, I guess...but great job anyway!

Great score for Alexei in his first JGP. Kid can jump. Needs work on the presentation but he's only 15. With Nathan, Vincent, Alexei and Torgshev the US has reloaded with the Junior men.

That was a charming interview with Alexei. So he trains in the US but his parents are still in Russia - does anyone know how he ended up competing for the US?

I think he said he's been here 2 years? I don't really understand what prompted him to move here without his family, but I am glad he's competing for the US or we probably never would have heard of him.

Interested to see Miyake skate after just remembering his wacky rainbow hair exhibition at WTT.

Nathan will move to Seniors in the nearest future. He competed as Senior at Nats-2015, maybe will get 4CC or even Worlds spot this season.

some hilar jokes in the chat about the reason Alexei moved to the US :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

I actually think he would have been competitive in Russia. His jumps are no worse (and arguably better) than many of the men there. But maybe back in 2013---the picture looked different.

2018 is going to be crazy....so many U.S. men vying for what I hope is just 3 spots. It's going to be an interesting few seasons to see who will rise to the top!

The battle for the Jr. Worlds men's title is going to be intense as well. Deniss from Lativia, Vincent Zhou, Roman, so on and so forth...
