Who is Kate Charbonneau? Does she have jumps outside of 3T and 3S? Will she get a JGP assignment next season?

Note that Najarro really struggled in her LP with 3 falls. However, she did try 3F, which, I believe, is her first attempt in competition. Good for her for trying this.

Rylie McCulloch-Casarsa is proving that she is gaining consistency with 3L, 3T and 3S. Hopefully, she gets new jumps next season and moves up next JGP season.

Detailed protocols are here.

Not sure about her jumps but I believe she moved to Winnipeg from the States this past year. Good for her from moving up from 5th after the Short!

Kate did try the triple lutz in both programs at the challenge and the triple flip in the short. She rotated the flip but fell. Both lutz attempts were underrotated and she fell on one but stood up on the other.

She clearly downgraded the attempted content for nationals. Hopefully she go back to doing what she was trying before.

Although the overall scores aren't going up in the junior field, it is nice to see some of our top junior ladies at least attempting to do something else other than toe and salchow. Rika Inoda did rotate a lutz in the long and landed it ( but with -2 GOE).

I would not be surprised if Rylie adds a lutz next season as she has landed them in practice last summer. Surely she will have the consistency to put it in a program next season.

As for next year, summer results and monitoring are the main factor determining JGP assignments. There is a novice lady from BC who landed a triple loop at sectionals who probably will get an assignment.

Looking at the higher ranked junior ladies trying to get ages from tracings.net when possible, I see Charbonneau( age unknown though) , Rylie M-C , Inoda , Najarro getting assignments.

Charbonneau must be 15 (was 12 at the 2006 US Nationals three years ago).
She must be of Canadian descent somehow with Charbonneau as her family name.

Might be a little off topic, but after reading the article... Where's Kelsey McNeil??

McNeil won the junior ladies title last year.

She competed in the senior ladies challenge this season and finished 25th. Only the top 13 ladies at the challenge and the 5 byed skaters ( Rochette, Leung, Phaneuf , Samson , Szmiett ) qualify for nationals.

She has struggled badly all season long. Her summer skates were so bad that SC refused to consider her for GP assignments.
