Men - Free Program

I too am happy for Joubert - and sure, not his best but really, really good, smoothe.

Congrats to Brian, Daisuke and Stephane. They've done exactly what they were expected to do. Lambiel had been given a second chance in the short, and look how he used it today.

I hope it'll be Takahashi next year.

I hope that next year Plushenko, Joubert, and Lambiel will be on the podium.

TAKAHASHI     just great - i love this guy; nicest arms in the mens and women's divisions, and ohhhh so smoothe. wow. this was fun.

poor jeff, he is brillian, just not his night. speaking of which, nightie-night all!

ok - I must agree with Button that Lambiel just had to many mistakes in his LP - BUT what a GORGEOUS absolutely LOVELY and AWESOME program.

I really admire it more when skaters get new programs each season, but I sincerely, truly, honestly hope Lambiel keeps both of these for next year and skates them lights out all season long. Wow - i loved it.

I actually really liked Weir's LP - I just wish he could skate with energy and conviction 'cuz he is another beauty to behold (IMO).

Lambiel's program was truly amazing. I don't like Takahashi's style. Jeffrey Buttle seemed to lack of spark coupled with too many mistakes. Verner is a greater jumper. Brian was cautious, but he did a clean program nevertheless. To me, the highlight is Lambiel's program even with some mistakes.

What a disastrous performance by Sandhu. Even the Canadian commentators seemed to have lost their patience. It's funny that his coach was almost numb with his routine melt-down showing no visibly upset.

Daisuke is Awesome!

Daisuke was the best and most inspiring tonight! He should have won because he has more interesting program. The next most exciting was Verner and after that was Lambiel. I am happy that Joubert finally won a gold medal, but his skating was uninspired. He just seemed to skate around from jump to jump, but I give him credit for handling all of the pressure and not making any mistakes. That's what a champion does.

Takahashi deserved to win. Joubert gave his most listless performance of the entire season. That can be made up for with the Short Program lead and sheer jumping ability...but Takahashi outjumped him.

Kudos as well to Lambiel for hitting that 3Axle and Quad and displaying the best long program of the entire year. I dearly hope he keeps that program and comes back PERFECTLY next year and beats Plushenko. That would be so orgasmic.

Takahashi beat Joubert by 6 points in the long. Given he was so far back after the short I don't think that he did deserve to win the whole thing even though Joubert was lack luster, he was clean. Kudos to Takahashi for the silver though, I like his skating over all, but I'm really not a fan of his choreography. I swear if he runs his hand down his face one more time...
Verner was impressive. Now he just needs some choreography, can't wait to see him next year.
Hopefully Jeff has a better year next year. At least he rotated everything.

I thought the long program for the top three were brilliant. I no Brian had know fire in his program but I thought the sedated style went wonderfully with music. I actually loved it.
Lambiel was the best and the highlight of them all. I became completely lost is his program. I thought he was a dancer for a second. He earned his jump to third. He the best skater of the world in my book. I wasn't a big fan of his until now. I hate his "zebra" program.
Takahashi skate was almost on par with lambiel's. It was just amazing watching him. I got goosebumps at the end. I definitely think that he was under mark in the PCs. He should have been closer to lambiel since he had almost no mistakes. Also Brian PCs were way to high in the short. I am not sure if Brian or Takahashi should have been the world champion; but they should have been a lot closer point wise. Other than that I think the judges did a pretty good job. Bring on the ladies.

I'm happy for the medalists.  Does anyone else think Johnny looked scared to death before his short program?? Johnny did good, maybe next season will be better.

I'd say Johnny did look nervous. A bit more than usual.

I'm sure his next season will be better, b/c it def can't be worse.

I don't think he looked as nervous as before Nats but I think he looked fatigued toward the end of both programs....he never travels well. He has to want it enough to focus more and I hope he starts skating a little edgier..no pun intended.
