I thought that Melkumova would for sure be on the last place after Elements considering how big of a weakness it is for her. She doesn't even have a stable 2A and has never landed a clean triple. I believe the 2A she landed during elements is her first 2A she's landed in competition, and should also be the first clean 2A landed by a 2009-born skater in competition.

Hopefully she has a somewhat respectable showing with her FS... Which would mean only URs(no downgrades), and at least two 2A / triple that she doesn't fall on in tota.


Right, and also... a bit surprised that Berestovskaya actually increased the gap to Akatieva with the elements. I thought that this would for sure be her weakness in comparison.

At 2010 Radionova with multiple triples won, 201.90
At 2011 Natalia Ogoreltseva won (triples, 3+2 combo) 196.31

Now several girls have 3Lz+3T combo, Samodelkina landed at "Elements" 3Lz+3T and 3Lz+3Lo, both jumps in combo rippon.

Btw, many girls are pleasure-to watch, good choreo and skating skills, nice StSq and spins.

Top 3 - very good and much better than others (while in others are very nice girls too).
Sofia Akatieva - very good both at TES and PCS, clean FS.
Sofia Samodelkina - excellent jumps, not so good in components as Akatieva, one fall in FS.
Elizaveta Berestovskaya - nice, high level by both technical and components, today she were nervous, several mistakes.

Total level of younger girls this year is very high.
