Good for Phaneuf. Four triples is respectable, particularly if she was as nervous as they said. I hope this got all those nerves out though, and she can really pour it on and land in the top 5.
As I was typing this, it occured to me just how far ladies skating has come in Canada. Time was, a four-triple performance would have won the championship. Canada doesn't have the depth of Japan or the U.S. but we are getting better.

Way to go Cynthia! I'm so happy for her. Hope she can hold it together now. I'd love to see her 2nd in Canada again. With or without the jumps, I enjoy watching her skating much more then Mira.

Final flight is going to be very interesting! Cynthia's right in the middle - 15th. Amanda Billings got a bad draw.
24 TOTAL (the number exempted and active plus the QR skaters) go on to the SP.
MEN: of the 12 exempted from qualifying, 10 are competing. That means that the top 14 from the QR go on to the SP.
LADIES: of the 12 exempted from qualifying, only 9 are competing. So the top 15 from the QR go on to the SP.
The top 18 from the SP go on to the FS.
