Definitly. She's fairly irregular when it comes to jumps, plus with the new system, pairs skating wouldn't bring out her flexibility, whereas ice dancing would.
If injury is not a problem -- didn't Brian Joubert once say that he wanted to skate pairs after he was done skating singles? Joubert and Sasha would make a gorgeous couple (IMO)
Mmmm.... I love both skaters, but I'm not sure they would find artiostic harmony. Sasha is great slow, delicate music whereas Brian prefers fast and powerful music.
I don't think Sasha would make a good ice dancer because edging was never one of her strong points. And she is too short (5'2"). The top ice dancers are tall, with long legs.
I think Sasha should stay as a pro single skater who gets to do "pair-ish" stuff in programs like SOI's Enchantment number.
I saw Sasha this past Wednesday in SOI and she was great. She landed all her jumps (a double axel, a triple toe and two triple sals), but I don't think she's ready to come back to eligible skating. Instead, she fits right in to professional skating. And as a fan of pro skating, I'd be happy if she continued on as a pro skater.
IDLERACER, I think you're thinking of one of the Improv Ice shows. It was part of the finale I think when Sasha and Michael were paired.
I read reporst that Sasha is falling all over the place in SOI and ther her saving grace, her artistry, is also regressing. IF Sasha plans to come back, she better give up the shows and start seriously training. They jump in pairs too. If she can't land the jumps she won't be competitive; even in pairs.
yes, of course if she were competitive she would begin her training regimine again. She is not training now just for the shows and is having fun, traveling and propbably not practicing a whole lot.

I also want Brian Joubert to pair with Sasha, but Brian may have another plan. Can you believe he might be serious about doing pairs with this girl - Valentina Marchei after 2010 Olys.
Her edges and footwork aren't all that great. That pretty much kills ice dance. You can only make up so much with the lifts.
She needs to be a pro show skater and she needs her own show of ballet on ice (I see a Ballanchine-inspired number) and it will be big and there will be TV specials and people will want to go see pro skating again. And then Irina and Michelle and Shizuka can creat a pro competitive circuit and we can have a pro worlds again and skating will be all over TV like it used to be....
