I wish her the very best in this next chapter of her life! I will miss her beautiful, lyrical and expressive skating. I watched the 2022 Worlds Womens FS to see her beautiful FS again.Just when you hear Mariah Bell is retired, you go back and look at all the wonderful pics you have of her since Nats Omaha 2013 and wonder, Where did the years go?????
Exactly...As I keep saying, if a skater makes you FEEL, they have done their job......Boy did Hana Yoshida make me feel tonight! MB knows like many successful skaters that the face is an important part of artistry...( it kills me that I can find and watch the whole ladies FS on Youtube without commentary yet I cant watch the GP on demand) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmYLoi8sD-YI wish her the very best in this next chapter of her life! LOL You know you are a skating fan when you still post on GS. Has anyone noticed how the number of posts have dropped in the last say 8 mos since Russia has stopped competing at International events. Usually by now there would be lots of chat on the Skate America page but it is very slow moving. Without Russian skating drama or being reduced some of the fan interest seems to have disappeared. But I guess diehards need to think who will win pairs. While the US and Japan appear to be the faves for gold and silver the bronze is wide open. And now the ladies are very even - while one assumes Kaori will at the very least podium come worlds the podium is wide open - Japanese compatriots, Loena, the strong korean ladies, Olga M, Pagiani have all shown promise. In dance it looks like careful timing and patience will pay off for Chock and Bates. Will the British sneak onto the podium? The Italians look medal strong (almost as usual). Will Canada put it together and regain the good graces of the judges. Not quite the Russian drama of Nikita and his partner or the French from costumes falling off, abortions et al b ut some interest. The men have lost a lot of the top skaters but lots of exciting skaters from Malinin to the strong Japanese team. You know you/we are fans when we can take what seems like a lack lustre period of skating and get so excited. When you see a license plate with the letters YYY and you say to yourself, "guess he hit his key points"!![]()
Honestly I had not noticed, but I don't follow Russian skaters/skating so I don't read those threads at all ever. GS is the only forum I go to that hasn't migrated to FBLOL You know you are a skating fan when you still post on GS.
