2015-2016 Programs by Discipline

From icenetwork article
Ross Miner will debut two new programs at the Lake Placid Summer Championships, which take place June 26-27. His short program, choreographed by Jamie Isley, is to Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind." The free skate, to a medley of songs by Queen, was choreographed by Lori Nichol in early April.

Edit: 1 min late

"We were a little worried that it would sound dated, but I really think that if I can show how much I believe in my program, it will work," Miner said. "I don't think I've ever believed in a program as much as I believed in that long, so that was really special for me. At this point in the season, I've never been able to keep the choreography and do the jumps as well as I've been able to this year. Even when I'm tired, I still want to do the choreography. It's still fun to skate and perform it."

this part sounds promising and shows how important for a skater to enjoy their program and how it can motivate you :)

I *love* the tune "New York State of Mind". Go 70's music and go Ross:cheer:
I imagine that the choreographer is not related to the Isley Bros? Now that would be cool...

All the better to enjoy them my dear, LOL. But I can't seem to place them, we have Tiffany/Jonathan, Ruslena, Ross Miner, who is the fourth?

I wrote ,,three'' Queen programs, but I forgot about Z/G. Adam Rippon uses Who Wants to Live Forever for his SP.

Queen - the program music epidemic no one saw coming? Well, if so I'm fine with it - so much more preferable to me than POTO. ;)

Maybe after last season, everyone thought they should go outside the box....but coincidentally everyone's outside was Gastby/Queen? ;) Well, at least its spread throughout 3 different themes this time around.

Please just let it be with LYRICS. I want to hear and enjoy Freddie !!!

Adam's Free is a Beatles medley of “Because (The World is Round)”; “Get Back”; “Yesterday”; and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”

Yes - for heaven's sake, please not that elevator-muzak strings version of "Who Wants To Live Forever" that has been used several times in the past. :disapp: Luckily Adam has already posted a clip of himself using the original. But if there must be any more Queen programs...they do have other songs, guys.

Queen is the new Muse? There are so many other bands out there that would make for interesting programs...but I'll take Queen over Sam Smith any day.

Ivan Righini could do We Will Rock You. ;)

ETA - I... cannot stand Muse. The instrumental versions just left me feeling wholly indifferent, but the ones with "song".... :slink:
