Nice to see Erokhov back on a podium! After 2018 Worlds, he was injured for two seasons, and I wondered if we'd see him in competition again. I was sad we never got to see a clean performance of his 2018-2019 SP to "Black Earth" by Fazil Say. It was pretty cool program with an original music choice. Then last season he changed coaches from Tutberidze to Butsaeva. Glad he seems well and is competing again!

Kolya Kolesnikov delivered superb free skate at Syzran stage. Overally he finished second, because he lost too many points in the SP (missed combo), but today he landed three clean quads.

Overal medals:
Ivan Popov 🥇
Nikolay Kolesnikov 🥈
Eduard Karartynyan 🥉(new boy in Tutber House)

Bad news for Artur Danielan and Daniil Samsonov (who are going to Skate America). Alexander Gorshkov just said that Russian skaters simply cannot get US Visas and will have to get them through another country. Not exactly sure how that works, but everyone going to Skate America only has around 3 weeks to figure it out.

It's a complex situation but Russia currently isn't allowing the US Embassy to hire staff which means they don't have the manpower to issue short-term visas. So, only immigrant visas are being processed.

I imagine the solution is to send Russian skaters to another country to obtain the visa from a fully-staffed US embassy. However, it seems rather late to start such a process. I , also, hope Artur is able to go ...
