thanks for sharing this informationSince the sequence rules have changed (no penalty), I'm wondering if Alysa should change her 3Lz/e/3s to a 3Lz/2a and a non-combo 3s. Her three jump combo could be 3F/2t/2r.

Thank you for that information. I didn't know that background. Rino's skate really was amazing and joyful. This is being a night a Catholic mass themes: Dies Irae, then Luz Aeterna (I am watching in replay). And what a wonderful skate from Rino, and she climbed to 2nd!
The problem with the American girls is that they are better competitors than they are skaters. So far the tech calls have been fairly strict, so that really impacts inferior technique. Rino was looking good in regional and local competition (as was Wakaba) so I was more surprised at how poorly she skated in the SP. Her LP was great, but she outrageously got 2 points less PCS than Kaori's sloppy program.Again, not really, Alysa did exactly the same as she did in the early competition. So, did Isabeau last week. Bradie, ditto. Isabeau is not an early season skater, and Alysa and Bradie are doing well considering they are just returning to competitition. They are both strong competitors. Elyce just had one good competition where she was definitely overscored in PCS for her empty programs. The last two competitions were very inline with what is expected and previous seasons performances. The Korean women also did as expected, unfortunately.
Actually, the ones who surprised me were Rino (in a good way). Yeah! And, Kaori and Hana. I expected more from them. They both seemed very very tired this week. I'm sure Kaori will get it together and I am really rooting for Hana .
US skater Amber Glenn is a spectacular skater and jumper, but less than reliable competitor (although she's getting better and better). She'll easily be on the World's podium with two clean skates. The problem with the American girls is that they are better competitors than they are skaters. Could she please represent Mexico?Seoyeoung Wi has so much potential. I'm not sure that being in the Korean field helps her, though. She has so much more which we could see, but she just doesn't seem to have the confidence. She would do better in a different federation where she could gain confidence from being their top skater.
Burnout it's a constant problem in Korea even worse than China and Japan it seemsShe was, as far as I know...she is coming back from injury...and from burnout
She has a nice 3A she has been landing. But terrible under pressure and her general skating is inferior to the Japanese. Plus the Japanese have girls who also have 3As and quads who who can beat her clean programs. Granted, the US Fed has more clout than Japan, but if everything is equal the Japanese are better skaters.US skater Amber Glenn is a spectacular skater and jumper, but less than reliable competitor (although she's getting better and better). Yes. You are so smart to think this through…Since the sequence rules have changed (no penalty), I'm wondering if Alysa should change her 3Lz/e/3s to a 3Lz/2a and a non-combo 3s. Her three jump combo could be 3F/2t/2r.
C. Kim has no issues. She competes at Shanghai and then domestically and then at French Challenger.Burnout it's a constant problem in Korea even worse than China and Japan it seems
What Japanese skaters besides Shimada (who is not senior eligible for Milan) are landing quads? Watanabe, Yoshida and Higuchi have landed the 3a, but not this season, except for Yoshida's LP at Nebelhorn. She has a nice 3A she has been landing. And using his magic powers, he should have recognized the sometime and known "ah, that's how you say it!" and ignored all other times he heard it?Im not saying they should inherently know how to pronounce names. Im saying that sometime in the last 8 years that she has been prominent in skating, that he should have heard her name correctly pronounced. Since it is simple to remember, he obviously didn't care.
Her current combos are possibly safer for her at them moment. She last competed under the old rules. The 3Lz-2A probably isn't in her muscle memory to the same extent as the combos she did for years. I don't think the peak of the competition season is the best time to make the change - the off season would be better.Since the sequence rules have changed (no penalty), I'm wondering if Alysa should change her 3Lz/e/3s to a 3Lz/2a and a non-combo 3s. This makes no sense, given the similarity in the way she skated at both events. I thought she was one of the few who actually performed their programs. I think her PCS should have been higher in both the short and long programs.Right, in Budapest, Alysa had a tech score of 59.19, and here it was 59.34, the big difference was PCS. She got 60 here and 64 in Budapest.
Sumiyoshi does quads. What Japanese skaters besides Shimada (who is not senior eligible for Milan) are landing quads? Watanabe, Yoshida and Higuchi have landed the 3a, but not this season, except for Yoshida's LP at Nebelhorn.
Being a professional skating announcer he should have heard it pronounced correctly many times. And using his magic powers, he should have recognized the sometime and known "ah, that's how you say it!" and ignored all other times he heard it?
I like her, but she has had only one ratified quad a year ago at France Grand Prix and then finished tenth at Japanese Chsmpionships. Btw, I read your Twitter post, and my people are not going back to Poland.Sumiyoshi does quads.
The Japanese are much deeper than the US. Yes, she did a quad like I said. I guess the Poles are lucky then.I like her, but she has had only one ratified quad a year ago at France Grand Prix and then finished tenth at Japanese Chsmpionships.
