I know this is over the top and over-dramatising it, but I truly feel like going back to hotel and just cry. Never, ever get invested, I just need a reminder.

Plus, they are always very gracious with their fans.I have selfish reasons for this - ice skating in the UK currently gets barely any media coverage and very little financial support.
When Torvill and Dean were winning medals, media interest/coverage increased, and the sport grew.
Lilah and Lewis's successes so far have rarely featured in the UK media, but I've noticed that audience numbers at British Nationals have been growing (with many people coming specially to see them).
If Lilah and Lewis start to look like Olympic medallists, I'm hoping that the media will take more interest, and that the sport will grow and be better funded - this can only be a good thing for the other British elite skaters, and audiences.
it's nice to see someone of your age with such a knowledge of modern pop music. kudos to you!
LaLa FTW !I don't think the after-event musing has acknowledged Marjorie and Zach nearly enough.
I'm not a huge fan of the Austin Powers RD because I think they're better than this gimmick.
But the quality of their skating and the elements is underappreciated. They're the future - not Lila and Lewis. IMO, of course.
I was fortunate to see them at 2019 4CC's RD in Anaheim, CA. I was sitting high up in the arena(although every seat is pretty good there), but you could feel her electric presence even during warmup.I truly wish I could see Chock and Bates in person. She is so beautiful and he is so handsome that I find myself mesmerized by their looks, more than their skating.
That's just wrong.Protocols are fascinating. Judge number 8 gave a 6 and 7s to LaLa in PCS... fascinating.
That sums up an in-person experience. She is gorgeous, but her skating skills are not.I truly wish I could see Chock and Bates in person. She is so beautiful and he is so handsome that I find myself mesmerized by their looks, more than their skating.
What happened to Paul today was a freak accident, you don't have the heel of your blade catch the boards b/c "you're in your head." You just don't.I am not a fan, but Chock and Bates fairly won the SD today. I think it's close with the Italians and Brits but I can live with their 2-3 placement. Paul needs to get out of his head the mistakes in the last 2 competitions and just go for it with the FD. I think they will place second or third in the FD but obviously not enough to put them on the podium. But that should be enough to take them positively into their Nationals and maybe 4CCs.
I wanted them to do so well. They just seem destined for "disaster" I worry they won't win an olympic medal. May be passed by lala. They need to get it together and skate clean clean clean with pizzaz. I still don't find Fear and Gibson really of the quality of top teams but this quadrennial the skil level or talent does seem lower for whatever reason overall. I remind myself not every uadrenniel can be stellar.I still can't get over Gilles/Poirier fallI mean, I wanted Lopareva/Brissaud not to come dead last, but aww, not G/P!
Marjorie and Zach are amazing skaters, and headed for World medals, IMHO.I don't think the after-event musing has acknowledged Marjorie and Zach nearly enough.

Re. Lilah and Lewis, I wonder if they'll continue past Milan? (I suspect they will, especially if they don't reach the podium). The next few years could be interesting in British Ice Dance - the second British team, Bekker and Hernandez, are not that far behind in terms of scores (they've just won Golden Spin of Zagreb, too). IMHO, Hernandez in particular, is an excellent ice dancer, and the team aren't coached at IAM, making them fairly unique ....
I wonder if having Bekker and Hernandez on their heels might push Lilah and Lewis into trying some different styles of programme - this can only be a good thing.
