Yes, the SP gap was astounding if you check Gushchina's and Frolova's performances. Weird scoring. But thats skating...And I thought Gushchina was clearly better than Frolova and Yametova too.

But we weren't talking about what scores someone should have or what we think they deserve, were we? We were talking about what cost or what won a medal. For me it looked like judges were helping her with PCS all season long, as she had massive problems in GP. And even today they once again helped her massively, imho she didn't deserve the PCS she got today. She's still a lovely skater, awesome sliding and speed, but all season long she was unable to present neither black nor white swan. It was just some lovely skating with random hand flaps all season long. So, for me Mura just didn't deserve to be in top-3 this season.
Maybe last season there was still a question about that, but the current Adeliia is pretty far ahead of what Akateva ever showed. Yes Akateva could have improved but, there is still no reason to believe Petrosian would be anything other than the best right now in any case, especially with how stable she is.She's the one i imagined in Adeliya's spot. Such a talent but alas injury.
Muraviova was mediocre in the SP and got massively overscored, then Gorbachova despite her mistakes still had a BV of 70 compared to 62 for Mura, plus deserved 4 point SP advantage (should be more) Mura with he 73 PCS how can she expect more than that? She's a much more laboured skater than last season. Two single jumps in the second half as well.Im still gutted for Mura to be honest. I kind of understand the internationals who complain about quads. Its hard to really accept that a girl with that many mistakes beat an ultra clean skate cause of one UR'd salchow. The BV can stay but they need to make the falls more costly.
No way. She's massively jealous of Valieva (she would never even acknowledge her existence), and not too excited for Adelia after the over the top, theatrical cheering on of skaters she sees as comfortably below her.I'm going to be honest Anna is
jealous of nobody haha
I think it's a reflection of the media in some cultures they really whip their people into a frenzyYesterday I was just astounded at the amount of hate directed at the Russian skaters. (under the thread about them returning). So much hate I would love to see more than one going to the Olympics and would love to see them take all the medals. lol. And these are the same people who love to scold others about 'hate'.
. It's very strange for me. For people like me regional politics or disputes thousands of kilometres away is of no relevance. All this stuff I hear second hand information about has been out of my new cycle for years. There's 6 billion people in Asia and Africa everyone has their own problems to deal with at a local and national level.Actually you could be right but I dont think its a sports thing, I think its an Eteri thing. Eteri lovesss Valieva and Adeliia, not sure Shcherbakova ever got that kind of warmth from her. When she sees Eteri smiling and hugging Adeliia like a daughter it might make her feel sad, "why didnt she see me that way even though I won everything for her?".No way. Even at the international events they always acted with class, and yeah today they showed real class again. Was thinking about another site girlies claiming the good sportsmanship in the women’s event without the Russians… Yes, we saw disappointment today (which is totally normal—otherwise, you don’t want it enough), but overall, the girls were so sweet with each other.![]()
Petrosian isn't exactly stable. This is the first competition where she skated two clean programs. She usually makes mistakes in the free. She improved artistically but she had harder layouts before. And let's be honest, she's facing less fierce competition since last season.Maybe last season there was still a question about that, but the current Adeliia is pretty far ahead of what Akateva ever showed. Have no clue where you got all that nonsense. She talks about Valieva without problems when directly asked, just prefers not to talk about other people behind their back. She has no problems with Adelia either. She's just friends with Akatieva and cheered for Sadkova massively, as both struggled for quite some time.No way. She's massively jealous of Valieva (she would never even acknowledge her existence), and not too excited for Adelia after the over the top, theatrical cheering on of skaters she sees as comfortably below her.
Petrosyan made mistakes due to intentionally pushing for more and harder quads. Today she just skated an "easier" version, without 4F.Petrosian isn't exactly stable. She unfollowed Eteri from social media when that Kamila documentary was released with Eteri interviewed in it saying Kamila was like something from the heavens or something to that effect. Eteri said no disrespect to my other students but Kamila is the best. What fanfiction is this?
Petrosian is not unstable for not scoring 260 every event. Thats unheard of. Go check her skating scores profile, she doesnt lose. She always scores over 230 at least. Her total meltdowns are 230s. She had none this year. Meanwhile multiple 240s, 250s... Its consistency if she never loses. Im not saying shes a robot. Who else does what she does?Maybe we have different definitions of consistent, absolute consistency vs relative consistency. Frolova for example is absolutely consistent because she always does what she is supposed to. Petrosian is relatively consistent because although she doesnt skate perfect every time, she is not even playing the same game as the others. She is consistently in a different game. She never drops to the level of anybody else even if she doesnt reach the highest point of her own level. She is consistently in her own level. Her competitive level is extremely consistent. The most consistent by far. Go check my break down in the Russian ladies thread from way back. She is 3rd all time for 2-season average scoring, by 1 point. Right now shes set for 2nd by a landslide, 1st if ignoring Valieva's DQ. And after this season she will have the highest average senior career score of all time in any case unless she literally falls on everything at GPF. Including all of Valieva's DQs and probably even discluding her meltdown (I'll check it when I recalculate after GPF)! That is the definition of consistency. She is literally on track to be the most consistent senior skater of all time, statistically; not opinion.Petrosian isn't exactly stable. Akatieva didn't have that luxury. She was against Valieva with quads, Mura with 3A, Petrosian herself with quads, Tuktik with 3A, Zinina, etc. All those skaters were consistents or semi with high TES and PCS.
I don't know if Petrosian would be anything other than the best right now in any case, but Akatieva was better than her since juniors. Without the injury, maybe she would have became an even better competitor.
Haha it does read a little weird doesnt it, the way I typed it, but I think thats pretty much the default understanding amongst Russians. A child-parent connection between coached and students is very well established amongst many groups. They admit it themselves often. Eteri was always cold to Anna. Never treated her like the other two. Its clear Anna has mixed feelings with Eteri. Feels unappreciated she felt kind of snubbed when Eteri made a post saying Valieva is her most talented ever student. What fanfiction is this?
Yametova scoring over Sadkova in PCS is utterly mindboggling I didnt even realize that. Daria skated her heart out. It was by far the most expressive and emotional performance of the night. Her SS is known to be good. She deserved equal to Muravieva TBH, definitely over Frolova and honestly Akateva too. The composition of Akateva's program is not the same IMO. She wasnt nearly as passionate either. Sadkova loses SS but not by much she is also faster than Akateva right now. Sadkova's FS deserves mid 240s with a clean SP.Gleichenhauz is saying Sadkova didn't get enough points for the free skate and I agree 69 PCS is too few it definitely needs to be up 71-72.
