2024-25 Russian Nationals Women's Free Skate

Off tangent, sorry, but I'm still buzzing from what I watched.

I think Valieva would have got an easy bronze today. If she had of restored the quad then an easy silver (assuming attempting one 4T and completing it). She can do a SP and get 80 in her sleep with just the 2A.

If we keep Sadkova's SP mistake then yes. Clean though Sadkova would probably win. Well, then again, with this PCS probably not. Valieva's quad is also a massive maybe. Wasnt working last season and Sadkova is on fire.

Andrei Andrei... When you have to do two mistakes, split them to two different jumps so you are not penalized for repeating a jump with no combo.

oops, wrong thread...

Today was amazing! Adeliia finally skated 2 clean programs! Her haters are seething right now. Daria had a clean free skate and I'm so proud of her. Too bad about Alina but hopefully she takes revenge at the final. I wonder if the Sofias will bounce back next season with ultra-c, but regardless I'm happy the girls went clean. The best event of the entire season.

I'm basically sure that Akateva will stabilize the 4T at absolute minimum. She already jumps it fine just very nervous.

Muravieva's 2A is massive. I think she should regain 3A. I think we'll learn more at GPF with her. Hard to know where shes at right now physically.

Akateva's 2A is also ginormous I wouldn't be surprised if she regains a 3A eventually I think it'll take a while though. She looks pretty much post-growth I dont think there will be many more obstacles for her. The hardest days are behind her and things could be way worse. She should be on a steady upwards trend even if it takes a while for her to peak. Good reasons to stay optimistic.

Wow, with all the expectations I had from men's free, it was actually women who delivered. Solid and enjoyable, though the choice of music could have been a bit brighter. I really hope that this strong free means Murav'eva is ready for a strong next season. That's not to take away from all other women, she is just my favorite, because she delivers drama on ice.

Gleichenhauz is saying Sadkova didn't get enough points for the free skate and I agree 69 PCS is too few it definitely needs to be up 71-72.
I dunno. I think Sadkova is superior to Petrosan as far as jumping ability, but PCS isn't quite there yet, and there is a noticeable gap between her, and the others in the top ten. She doesn't yet have the polish, refinement or speed, but I've no doubt she will get there, and when she does, watch out. (A better program wouldn't hurt)

I don't understand why are we even talking what Valieva would or could.
We know what Valieva did tho, she doped it's a fact.

AGREED

Im still gutted for Mura to be honest. I kind of understand the internationals who complain about quads. Its hard to really accept that a girl with that many mistakes beat an ultra clean skate cause of one UR'd salchow. The BV can stay but they need to make the falls more costly.
What are you talking about? Alina won by her (quadless) SP. She lost FP to Mura.

Jealous of what? She's a 3-times Rusnats champion, worlds and olympic champion. Won against teammates as strong as Adeliya, if not stronger.
Sometimes it's amusing or strange to what conclusions people are coming - who do not understand Russian language, mentality, national pecularities of emotional and nonverbal reactions and set of values.
This was a very good comp. They fast all did their best (and skated better as I could imagine). You can tell the issue was important

She had a lot to prove obviously the news of the Olympics would be going through her head it made her even better.
No, nobody cared at RusNat about this news as much as many in the West probably would wanted. I watched event and various blogs/interviews carefully - and nobody really wanted to talk about it among athletes - even when they did talk. And when they do - they were saying it doesn't matter until RusNat is done and RusFed will determine all criterias etc. I would even go as far as saying that it felt like this theme was unpleasant for them when they were asked by journalists.

I was just emotional in the moment. Thats totally correct. Gorbacheva deserved the win.

Thanks. I know she was Daniil's favourite I didnt realize Eteri cried for her as well.

Yea, I didnt see anything jealous in Anna's reaction. I just meant in general there seems to be a split between her and Eteri. I do think she was a little hurt by Eteri praising Valieva over everyone else.

There is still the next season, no?
I think they have to decide by September. Injury substitute might be included.
