Yeah, their scores shouldn't matter at this point. Every fed is backing their skaters, in national like international competitions.The inflation during olys season is usually sky high.Hopefully not, though I guess some of it is unavoidable. And if the Fed goes on inflating his scores like today, that will of course end-up causing some backlash, even if people understand why they do it. It's the same that happens with Illia, they may deserve to win but unsustainable crazy scores tend not to fly too well in the end
Though of course, Petr's case is a bit different because of what is at stakes at the Olympics. RusFed will "help" as much as possible Petr and Adelia with local scores, as that is the only way they might get some sort of "reputation" for Milan. I guess people can understand that this is what the Fed "has to do" and that's why, except big meltdowns, falls or "too big to hide" mistakes, they'll on all odds both be National champs with big scores, etc, but of course this is quite a tricky situation to handle....

The problem is that the judging towards other skaters is stricter every event. The idea is matching international scores but how could you match the thing that happened yesterday in RD?

Does it matter?
All the other skaters won't compete internationally, so i don't see the need to match the international scores for them.
Only two skaters need that.
As long as every skater but those two is getting strict judging, i don't see the problem. It's better to show them what areas need work.
What happened in RD?
I can understand Mish/Gal is they are lacking in motivation. If we optimistically assume Russia will be back on the international circuit over the next quad, they would be 28 and 30 yr old by 2030, That's not bad for pair skating, but the injuries add up and younger teams are behind you. They have to look at their future and competitive skating is going to end sooner than later for them.
Pity about the double falls for V/P as the rest of the program is good.

And what they get is far from that.
I do see. Makar deserved bronze in Moscow. I'm not sure about Adeliia's place at her stage as well (but she at least was perfect in SP).
Level 1 for everyone on everything. Generally intl scores are very different from event to event.

I'm afraid for M/E's twist. It looks lower every season. But they manage to have level features done.

Adeliia is getting good scores but the placement itself probably isn't unfair. In her first stage he just fell on a 4T. The rest is enough to keep a gap between Dina.
In her 2nd stage the gap was over 20 points. She had a deserved 10 point lead from SP. Everyone else also had mistakes in FS and Gorbacheva's content was low (really bad form, still recovering).
Makar losing podium was very sad, though.
