2025-26 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 5 - Omsk

This is astounding. Based on everything we've seen this season Petr is a favourite for the podium. Nobody internationally is skating like this but Malinin. This is a fact. There is no judging which would put this below any of Kagiyama or Sato's skates this season based on how he was judged at qualification.
Sato maybe, if Yuma goes clean he'll gets the points

I dunno. Kagiyama is such a shifty customer.

Sato - no. But clean Kagiyama is 300+ easily. Adam, too.

I said any of their skates this season. Not their hypothetical best. These skaters can easily score 290 or less with only minor mistakes. He does not require them to bomb. He only requires them to be imperfect. Which is the international standard right now, if not higher than it.

The point is Petr has the 2nd best performance of any man in the world this season.

the majority of them will regroup for february, but Olys are a strange beast. it's going to be exciting and nerve wrecking for me

Wow Petr! He has such charisma on ice. Only Mark and Vetlugin have similar ones between Russian men.

Vlad is very promising and improving slowly. More attention to hands and to steps compared to the last season.

Kagiyama gets insane scores even when he is imperfect. Even Sato needs 3 falls from Kagiyama to pass him nowadays, despite Sato's natural ability to jump that is better and very decent pcs. Kagiyama is extremely hard to beat, despite it looking like no problem in theory. At least it was the case for 6 years running. Kagiyama needs a major loss -- and not to Malinin -- to be an easier target.

Zhenya's FS costume is quite a statement out there 😄 but I like gold in general and even more so the gold plus red combo, so he gets kudos from me, you can't deny it's original at the very least :)

How he possibly managed to hold on and not fall on those jumps is a mistery of nature ..... not the best skate for him, but he got back to life a little during the choreo seq and had some nice glides..... I'm just really glad he's back after his injury; he'll continue to recover and his skating will get better fingers crossed for Nats

All I'm saying is the forum clowned me for suggesting he could score 290 internationally, and this would have been in the 290s. It is enough to podium without requiring the favourites to bomb. It was the debate and I was right. It is also a fact that the debate over Dikidzhi is finished.

Anyway, it is clear that Olympics will be intriguing. It will hopefully work in Gumennik's favor that he doesn't have to skate for the team. So, he can train only for the individual.
