I remember Dario getting a Czech partner a few years ago, and them planning to skate for her country, but the partnership fell through. But I thought he then got an Italian partner and returned home. (I haven't seen the Italian Championships for a few years, so I have lost track of what is happening domestically).

Anyway, I enjoyed what he and Liza did there now. Even if I would not be keen on their costumes.

The forward rolls they both did were fun.

Dario's previous partner, Irina Khavronina, left him in the middle of the season. He couldn't find anyone in Russia, so he started skating with Denisa Cimlova. However, the RusFed required a two-year waiting period. At the same time, several strong girls in Russia were left without partners. So he returned and teamed up with Liza.

Apparently Shevchenko coached Ezhlov for a while. I didn't know that.

he's about three years younger. Shevchenko consirdered becoming coach after breaking up with Eremenko but then they started to skate with Ezhlov instead of coaching him.

Thank you both. I remembered that there was talk on here about him going back to Italy when the partnership with Cimlova fell through, but it was that long ago that I wasn't sure if it was just speculation or if it did actually happen. So, that is why I decided to ask, to check.

I didn't remember that the reason it fell through was because he couldn't get a release. That would definitely have ruled out the return to Italy. So, thank you for explaining this.

See, this is what happens when you don't see the Russians on the international stage, and the only time you have the time to watch them is at Nationals. You forget who is there from one year to the next.
