2025-26 Russian Nationals Pairs Short Program

The reach back with the picking foot for the throw Flip looked so far that I was worried about the whole throw for a second, but no, no issue there. Did he fall at the very start of the StSq, or was that supposed to look like that? Still, a solid skate, Yulia looks to be back to top form

Well, at least they took it with humour :D

Nope, a fall when he was supposed to slide on his knees I think?

I'm all for more Handel in figure skating. So I am delighted that Yulia Artemieva & Alexei Bryukhanov (PRM) were skating to "Sarabande".

And I really loved the costumes. Even if they did blend into some of the adverts on the boards.

But what a weird fall from Alexei.

They go into 2nd position.

Well, with the mistake, it was to be expected that they wouldn't lead.

Petition to retire Moonlight Sonata (in jest)

NEVER!!! I love it!!! To the exxtent that I want it played at my funeral.

Mind you, I would not argue if this particular version was retired. 🙉 I'm sure Beethoven is spinning in his grave. And I just saw that we are going to hear it again in the Free! :drama:

I liked Taisia Shcherbinina & Artem Petrov (PRM)'s costumes, though.

They go into 3rd position.

The thing with Taisiia and Artem is that their Free has been more consistent than those of a number of the teams likely to end up ahead of them after the SP, but I'm sure they would have liked to be a little higher and score over 70. Still, keeping my fingers crossed for them for the day after tomorrow.
