2015-2016 Programs by Discipline

Has anyone heard anything about Ashley's sp..? I almost hope she also does a tango and we get a true matchup between her and Gracie 😂😂 Although I would also really like her to do something a little darker/heavier/impactful this season. Last seasons short did absolutely nothing for me.

If I were a judge and Patrick were skating a program like that and looked at me with his crazy eyes, I don't think I could take it. I'm sorry, Patrick.

Really? I haven't really noticed that, maybe not so known skaters use it? I can recall Han Yan and MCM, who are the others?

Yes, along with Bobrova & Soloviev (whom someone else mentioned above), the other three are less well known:

Shu Nakamura, Pogrebinsky & Benoit, and Efimova & MacMillan

I don't think it's unusual that there are a higher percentage of warhorses among lesser known or younger skaters (due to the expense of cutting new music). Likewise, I don't think it's surprising that three of these teams are ice dancers. I always find it a bit odd when Romeo & Juliet is skated without either Romeo or Juliet.

Mirai Nagasu

Copying below what her website says about her music.
(I know reports on her programs at the Santa Fe comp were posted earlier in this thread.)

2015/2016 Season

He's a genius, both challenging and not challenging himself, doing a psycho song and a jazz standard!

The jazz standard is, for Mr Chan, a bit standard. But Mack the Knife is a surprise. A good deal depends on which version he uses--and there are plenty of them. Too bad he won't be skating to Ella Fitzgerald's live version where she forgot the lyrics and improvised them for half the song. Sheer genius.

I think I saw it mentioned under his training video that it's the Michael Buble version. Though there is no question that Ella Fitzerald'd improvisation had way more character than Buble's.

Shocked I'm not the only one who noticed that...I first saw it during the Sochi gala, when he had to speak for the crowd, and his expression was rather crazed. A program where he played a psycho? NO! I would not sleep for weeks! I'm so sorry Patrick, it's just a thing you do...

Alla Loboda and Pavel Drozd will use Chopin- Waltz no 10 for their Short and music from the movie The Devil's Violinist for the Free.
