2017 Four Continents Men SP

I think that a 3Lutz+1/2Lo+3F is more likely for Nathan's jumping skills than a 3F+3LO.

My secret hope is that Nathan will do a 4T+4T, a 4Lutz+3T, and a 3Lutz+1/2Lo+3F as his combos someday. But at the same time, I hope that he will have a longer skating career for us to enjoy, but it most likely that he will pursue his college studies after the 2018 olympics.

3lz+1/2Lo+3F?! Has anyone even done that? What would his layout even be after he used both triples in one combos?

This was two days ago! We're nearly at 30!

I thought we'd go over 50 by the time the event ended and now that we're at 30, we will clearly beat that number. The better the event, the more pages we have. Here's to great skating by all the athletes.

I only say it because he has two +3T combos, which automatically means he can only repeat one other jump. If he replaces the 3T with a 3Lo he can repeat his lutz and keep his two 4T as is, since his 4T is is best quad.

If he does two +3t combo, his layout would be 4lz3t, 4f, 4lz, 4t2t2lo/3a, 4s, 3f3t, 3lz.
If he does a +3lo combo, his layout would be 4lz3t, 4f, 4lz, 4t2t2lo/3a, 4t, 3f3lo, 3lz. ( I think this is what you meant).

The BV of the 2nd layout is less than 1 point higher than the BV of the 1st layout. The difference between the 1st and 2nd layout is that the 1st layout has 4 different quads with 3t combo while the 2nd layout has 3 different quads with a 3lo combo. If he chooses to do the 1st layout, it would mean doing 4s is easier than doing a 3lo combo or doing 4s has more benefits than doing 3lo combo.

I am helping to reach 30:biggrin:.

I haven't have time to read all posts, but I am clear what I want to say;
No injury, please, please, please, please, please:hopelessness:

+ watch where you are warming up ... avoid crashes and stay away from the boards.

I'm sorry, completely OT, but can't resist, and it reminds me ....

When a trial attorney says "With all due respect, Your Honor", what he means "You don't know what you're talking about, Your Honor" ...but it needs to be said nicely. Practical legalese

Nah. Truth is that she is so nice, I'm always afraid of disagreeing for fear it will hurt her feelings.

I (heart) Mrs. P. I'm pretty sure that she wanted to name her baby "Tonto."

In Canada, (at least in my experience) the prosecution and the defence lawyers refer to each other as my friend

That's so cool; maybe they say, "My learned friend" (I think I have heard that on British TV shows)

In the US of A we are not nearly so nice, except to the judge:biggrin:

Doing my bit for 30 pages:laugh:

In Congress they all use flowery language to refer to each other as "My dear friend from Kentucky" or somesuch, even though they otherwise openly despise each other.

I've always thought that to be unintentionally hilarious, although it probably beats the truth: "I refuse to yield the floor to that cantankerous old bat from Massachusetts, who is better suited to mop the floors than serve in this august body."

I'm suddenly sad for Mura's absence at 4CC. Tanaka earns his spot rightfully at Nationals, but Mura was so unfortunate at Nationals after he led the SP. I will miss the handsome man with a funny costume.

(The baby's real name is Chris :agree: )

Man this is the most anticipated event of the season so far. Will we all last until Worlds??

30 pages :eeking:

Lol all this build up...I swear if we end up with a splat fest I'm blaming all of you!! :angry1:

lol so some funny trivia to keep in mind:

Nathan Chen has been really under-the-radar in Korea for the worst reason--his name is stupidly tricky to write in hangul. Korean fs fans can't come to a consensus that doesn't sound ugly or awkward and literally everyone is calling him by a different name. If Slaythan wins this event the Korean media will have the daunting task of picking one of these gems:

'Neh-sun'
'Neh-ee-sun'
'Neh-ee-deun'
'Neh-ee-teun'
'Neh-ee-deon'
'Neh-dan'
'Nah-dan'

at least they mostly agree on the first syllable (or is it a character?)
