Wow. USA got lucky in two disciplines to get three spots - just barely - a little bit of luck always helps:)

and what the heck - Russia dominated I think they won 9/12 or 75percent of all the medals. Is this one of the most dominated Junior Worlds???

I had hoped by maybe one more spot in ladies, but this is about as good as it could have been for Canada in terms of JGP spots.

Considering the skaters they sent here, I´m not sure if Canada actually *needs* more spots in ladies right now.

Also, I randomly realized that Russia could have sent 2 sets of 3 ladies to this Worlds which could probably win two sets of 3 spots for the next Junior Worlds.

That is almost certain - I mean - just look at what happened on the JGP circuit and at JGPF. I don't think it was a coincidence that that was a cleaner competition than this one (comparing top six here to JGPF).

Only two? From my memories of russian junior nationals there where probably even more than 6skaters that could have ended up top 7 here (7+6=13 => 3 spots for worlds)

Well, to be honest even Stasya's score which gave her the 4th placement at the Junior Worlds isn't really that competitive score when compared to some other Russian Juniors. I mean Tarakanova scored almost 200 points at the JGP Final and Panenkova scored above 196 points at JGP Poland which both were better scores than what Mako scored at the Junior Worlds. Also, clean Gubanova can score above 200 points for sure and to be honest Russia really should have sent Nastia to the Junior Worlds because Stasya's PCS were way way too high at the Russian Junior Nationals. And top of all this there are several other ladies who has scored or can score above or around 190 points at international evens, like Samodurova (192 points at JGP Italy), Vasilieva, Konstantinova and Gulyakova.

By the way, the same thing can also be said about the pairs. Panfilova / Rylov scored above 173 points at the JGP Final and Boikova / Kozlovskii can score the same when her landings are in order. in addition to these pairs Russia has numerous pairs who haven't competed much or at all internationally but who can score around 170 points when they skate somewhat clean, like Kvartalova / Sviatchenko and Poluianova / Sopot. And this is not even counting the newly formed but otherwise well known pairs like Atakhanova / Volodin and Kudryavtseva / Spiridonov. Akhanteva / Kolesov can be pretty competitive pair also.

Russia could field really competitive 2nd line in the ice dancing also. Polishchuk / Vakhnov won bronze at the JGP Final and they have scored above 149 points. Konkina / Yakushev and Khudaiberdieva / Nazarov are also very competitive teams as both teams won silver and bronze at their JGP events this season. With a bit of luck one of these two teams would have made it to the JGP Final as the 5th Russian team at the Final.
