2023 NextGen Team Camp - Competition Simulation | July 22-24

The Skate Canada addition problems are back. 37.78+26.28=27.18
And it's the third time already (unless there was another one I missed, but definitely at least the third time) 🙃 You'd think they'd be able to solve the issue at some point :rolleye:

Ok, the theme of technical errors with scores continues (third time tonight) - Chloe Nguyen/Brendan Giang of course didn't score 27.18 but 64.06.
Loved their performance and they got the 80’s colour right. Although Brendan’s black skates were a bit jarring. But overall, very good!

So now we have already seen the debuts of two of the new pairings (Nguyen/Giang and Martel/Oddson), "just" two more to come (Fournier/Zhu and Goodstadt/Bennett).

Ouch, tumble on the twizzles for Jamie.

Love her skating with her curly hair open, and love how comforting Everest was to her after the skate. ❤️

If these two don't make it in Canada, they should seriously think about representing the Philippines.

Then the Philippines would even have a full team for a team competition at the Olympics (already have a pair, a man and a woman, but no ice dance team - and they're senior-eligible next season)

Results RD:
1. Chloe Nguyen / Brendan Giang - 64.06
2. Dana Sabatini-Speciale / Nicholas Buelow - 61.02
3. Savanna Martel / William Oddson - 57.31
4. Emma Goodstadt / Christian Bennett - 55.67
5. Layla Veillon / Alexander Frank Brandys - 50.12
6. Jamie Fournier / Everest Zhu - 48.76
7. Victoria Carandiuc / Andrei Carandiuc - 45.52
8. Auréa Cincon-Debout / Earl Jesse Celestino - 45.43
9. Charlotte Chung / Axel MacKenzie - 40.29

To not too much of a surprise, the three teams who just moved up from novices occupy the last three places here.

Personally, I thought she was such a mess. The fall, the hair, the costume... Everything about it was floppy. I had such high hopes coming from a team that trains at IAM.

Dana Sabatini-Speciale / Nicholas Buelow they looked pretty solid but theres something about the huge height difference that looks funny especially when in a waltz or foxtrot position. but their speed and his strenght makes up for it.
