Oh? I fully expected 70+ for Isabeau just then.

Glad to see the judges aren't handing out too much candies for the home skaters

Hate the music the second half of Isabeau's program, love the first. Don't throw tomatoes at me, but I don't like her dress very much- I'd like less sparkle. Thus said, she skated beautifully.

They are both making the final group. This is just a completely ridiculous idea. Do you know how hard it would be for each judge to give the exact score necessary so that Tennell would end up 2/3 of a point ahead? If you don't agree, that's fine. But, while judges are biased, fans are even more biased.
There is no doubt the Americans were overscored. Look at the PCS. Lol

Dang if Elyce just lands that 2 axel she'd be right in the hunt. Hopefully she goes out and skates angry the podium is not out of the question.

I think the scoring was, actually, pretty fair. Sorry to those who disagree, the tech caller was strict for all. So many level 2 Stepseqs... Honestly, Rinka, Wakaba and Bradie could be in any order. They are all within a point of each other. They all had UR and low levels. Did being American give Bradie that extra half point, maybe? But, truly, that half point will not matter. It will come down to who does it in the FS.

I will complain about Yuna's PCS. She isn't a known skater but she is the only skater (besides Isabeau) who deserves 34 in PCS. The judges got it wrong there.

Nothing else is worthy of complaint IMHO.

Protocols out, and here's a summary:

  • Levito 1st in PCS, but hit with 3Lz!+3T<
  • Tennell 2nd in PCS  by 1+ pts  over Higuchi/Aoki/Watanabe/Lin-Gracey...3Lz+3T<
  • Watanabe all clean jumps 🤭
  • Higuchi 3Lz+3T<, 3F!
  • Pinzarrone 3Lz+3T<, CCoSp3V
  • Lin-Gracey 3Lz+3T not called as fall, smattering of -3/-4 so she did stay upright
  • Aoki 6th PCS behind Pinzarrone

Beautiful, light performance from Isabeau. Also surprised she didn't score 70+.
Wow was that technical caller strict with the URs. So many < when seemed q at most for many of the skaters.
On the other hand, 60 was a major gift for Elyse with those jump errors. Not sure how that 3Lz-3T didn't count as a fall.
