Wakaba was phenomenal. I actually really like Bradie as a skater, but Lord of the Dance does not suit her, at all. She is a spectacular spinner. The fact that she was scored above Wakaba in the SP was ludicrous. Yes, I know it was basically a tie. But it shouldn't have been.
Yuna Aoki's program is beautiful and she's a gorgeous skater. I didn't even care about the mistakes.
Isabeau Levito's program really suits her, but doesn't really do that much for me. Did I think she was two points better than Wakaba? Absolutely not. As the poster above says, I find it breaks the spell for me every time she bends way over at the waist and kicks her leg way up at the back going into a jump.
Yes, I know how the competition turned out so I'm far from bitter about it, but I thought Wakaba should have won the short as well.

Well… it’s the start of the season so I’ll say this the one time, as usual, and then try to hold my peace. I think Isabeau is a lovely, musical skater but every time I see her go into a toe jump I wince. It frustrates me that she gets high GOE on such bad, clumsy technique when others do not. This is not her fault, but it saddens me that if judges ever choose to score her jumps accordingly it will almost certainly be when it is too late for her to fix it. I wish above all for fair, unbiased judging across the board… which I realize is rather like saying I wish for it to rain daisies and unicorns in this sport, but I might as well get it off my chest. There, now I’ll go back to letting the Isabeau fans celebrate in peace![]()
