Any chance of Korean getting a pairs team from somewhere and sorting citizenship for them? It will be very difficult for teams to get through the qualifying event in pairs to compete in the actual pairs event at the Olympics (there are only 3 spots available, and it is likely that one will go to Russia and one to the Chinese pair moving up from juniors), but you could do with one in time for the team event.

I'd wondered what was up with Chaeyeon. She didn't seem herself. Her short programme is normally one of my favourites because of its individuality, but it just seemed to be missing something this time. I hope we will see her back strong next season.

Are there other junior girls moving up to senior next season besides jia shin? And is jia still working with Tracy Wilson and Brian Orser?

I am expecting the Olympic team for women to be Jia Shin plus one other. At the moment, the second spot is probably between Chaeyeon Kim and Haein Lee, as Ahsun Yun completely crumbled under the pressure at Worlds. Young You had already been on a downward trajectory for a couple of seasons before last summer's issue. The twins aren't age eligible yet.

1) No, all the other 2008 girls (Seojin, Hyorin, and Eunbi) were born after July 1st. Even if they had been age eligible since none of them would have gotten a GP they will all be appearing at JGP selections.
2) Jia is splitting her time between TCC and Korea, IIRC she's getting another David Wilson program.
3) As posted before, the district court ruled that Young's ban was unjust and has suspended her ban, she has gone through so much undeserved hardship and I hate KSU for it, but she plans to return to competition for the 2025-2026 season.
4) It will most likely be my love Chaeyeon, Jia, and Haein fighting to not be the one left out. Ahsun could potentially be a dark horse but only if a lot of things go wrong, and Young's current form is unknown so I'm not assuming anything as of now. No matter how it turns out I will be devastated, it will be so much pain.

No, it took Ye about 2 years to get his passport and he and Hannah brought historic firsts for Korean ID. Hyejin's new partner is definitely not going to get citizenship in time, never mind the fact that he is Russian.

For those who thought I was taking a grateful break from FS: I was, I had been writing my manuscript and watching RG in my spare time, when I found out that at the National Classified Figure Skating Competition (basically the last domestic competition of the season, not of much importance but it is a national competition) my darling squirtle Eunsoo will be skating her final competition to say goodbye to her fans on competition ice (her last competition before retiring was 2022 Nationals, so no spectators). I immediately made plans to go to Gimhae, and this time I will try to say goodbye to competitive skater Eunsoo without bawling my eyes out. I have no confidence in myself regarding that but I will try.
I'll post the streaming links for 4/19 and 4/20 here (too little interest to warrant a separate thread) for those who want to see my darling squirtle one final time as a competitive skater, but while there are other skaters of note competing (Ahsun and Minchae will be the most well-known among them) I'm not posting the full entries and the time schedule unless I'm asked to do so. I have a manuscript to write and RG to watch, and I'm enjoying the break from FS.
One final thing before I resume my break: I know that it's bothersome to go back and check all the posts on this thread, but I have posted major updates such as the suspension of Young's ban on this thread already. I'm not asking you folks to google all our skaters' ages or how long it takes for a foreign athlete to get Korean citizenship, but I'd appreciate a simple scroll of about 1-2 pages of this thread. It may just be that I'm being touchy because I have a deadline to meet, but after somehow becoming this forum's most active Korean member I have answered multiple questions all on the same topics multiple times and it's frankly tiring. I almost always update important news as soon as I see it and as soon as possible, so chances are that your question's answer has already been posted.
If all things go well for my mental health I will be back on this thread only for the streaming links next week, so again, if you have questions regarding Korean FS either try google with the assistance of machine translations if need be or keep them until the new seasonal threads begin to appear. Some questions could be answered by others who read this thread, but as of my experience about 70% go unanswered unless I reply, and if nothing goes wrong I will be enjoying my FS break for at least mid-June. I'd honestly love for another active English-speaking Korean on this forum (some have come and gone, how I miss Hailey) to be here and help folks get info, but since there are none this is what I'll have to settle on.

Seoyoung Kim is now on the entry list for the Skate BC/YT Victoria Day competition for Senior Women next weekend - https://skatinginbcresults.com/web/events/schedules/2024-2025/2025vdiskatergroupings.pdf
It's a short program only competition. Based on her being listed under Connaught, she's probably been training there. BC doesn't list countries for international skaters, I wouldn't read this as a country change.

Final update on Haein and Young's suspension: the KSU, under the decision of the new president Lee Sukyung, has nullified both Haein and Young's disciplinary suspensions, taking the court decisions into account

Okay so... KSU issued the bans, Haein and Young appealed to KSOC (the Olympic committee), the KSOC rejected their appeal, Haein and Young went to court asking for a suspension of the ban, which the court gave to both, and following the two court decisions the KSU (under new leadership) nullified the bans. So bottom line: both Haein and Young are free and can compete as they want.
I understand that there are a lot of parties involved and your first language isn't English, but I hope that this clears everything up and nobody is left confused and asking questions

Technically Heesue Han is senior eligible this year, but with the state of her injury I don't even know if she can compete properly yet. If she is recovered, I see her staying on the junior circuit, but I wouldn't be surprised if KSU sent her to a senior challenger. That being said, I doubt she is recovered yet, but I guess we'll know by JGP qualifiers.
