stacked competition. If the Canadians have a disaster, then I could see an American sweep
I don't see that happening, I see Canada likely to take two medals - colors to be determined by who makes the least mistakes and hits their levels. We will have to see how healthy Madi Chock is after being sick at Nationals.

Frankly surprised that the top teams are taking this on with Worlds a month away. I think they may be trying to appeal to the Asian popularity base that keeps them in shows after the competitive season and in their post-competitive world.

Well Madi & Evan didn't really get a chance to get a good read at nationals, given how sick she was. They likely watered down their program a bit and would like a judges assessment of their changes as a healthier team. As for the other top teams, dancers often like to tweak programs and many will jump at any chance to get judging feedback on their change as long as their is sufficient time between championships.

deleted my original post...

I thought we were in the general chat... and not just the dance....

Last year, Canada almost swept this... this year, I predict 2 medals as well for Canada.

It would be unusual for the top North American ice dance teams to willingly skip 4CC. Apart from Olympic years.

top dance teams do not skip 4CC usually because world standing points are essential for a good starting order for worlds... some teams are already behind because most challengers are in Europe and they don't all get to compete in those... so they absolutely have to compete at 4cc.

What did Madi have? The flu is hitting like crazy around here.....

Darn, it's date night so I may not be able to watch the RD live. Maybe I can talk him into watching for a bit, but we are somewhat obsessed with the latest season of Unforgotten at the moment (the Brits will know what I mean).

And so will this Brit-telly-loving American. I've watched seasons of Unforgotten multiple times. I love the way they show us so many scenes and views, bridges, neighborhoods, everything. 😍 I heard an interview of the creator/writer; he said that's one reason he wanted to do the series.

Good for you, skylark! I've been a fan of Sanjeev Bhaskar since his early career (LOVED Goodness Gracious Me!) and thrilled to see how far he has come. I've only seen Season 5 so far, but we are working our way through Season 6 thanks to my VPN :cheeky:

I will stay for the first group, then go to bed....(colors are washed out...looks nicer than here)

Good morning one and all!

It's time for some Social Dancing.

Livestream is now on air.

Oh yes, he's wonderful. You have the first 4 whole seasons to look forward to seeing for the first time, I'm practically envious. Sanjeev's way of being so calm and sharply intelligent is part of what makes the series work.
