2025 Four Continents Rhythm Dance

I am also wondering how GoE for ChRS prorates over 5 with 2 for BV? Is it a separate multiplier?

Chris on commentary.

AND HE'S GIVING SPOILERS ABOUT THE PAIRS!!!

This is why I like prefer things in order. But, 3am was far too early for me, and I want to watch my Ice Dance kids live. Plus, it's always nice to watch things in your company.

Naughty Chris!

Just caught up. Surprised and delighted by the scores - Piper & Paul didn't put a foot long and looked secure, confident, and having fun. LaLa were terrific, though like some of us, not thrilled with their music choice this year. Still not a fan of the frenetic music cuts for Madi & Evan, but they seemed to perform it well. I'm glad the sound issue was sorted in the ISU stream, though this time the music sometimes drowned out the commentary. Better than the other way round, though!

It's covered on Ice Dance scale of values on page 12 here with the other choreographic elements - https://isu-d8g8b4b7ece7aphs.a03.az...Finalupdate240904063575100_17327087427168.pdf

It goes from -5 GOE being -2.00 added onto the BV to +5 GOE being 7.50 added onto the BV. So with it onto the BV of 2.0, it would go from 0 with -5 GOE up to 9.50 with +5 GOE.
So BV counts twice? That's so weird.

Edit: i looked at the document, and it didn't make it any clearer, because it seems that goe are just randomly assigned different values across the board

The choreographic elements are fairly new. They were added to shift the balance a bit from the technical panel to the judges; also to allow more variety and creativity. They are not "leveled", so always come up as a level 1.

More choreo elements have been added, both in total and in elements to choose from.

Some people think they are just a way for the judges to give big rewards to their favorites!

Piper and Paul and Maddie and Evan were both wonderful in their own right. I don't understand who is doing the packaging of Piper and Paul. Piper's dressed looked unfinished and they should wear coordinating outfits. They looked like they grabbed something out of their individual closets with no connection.

Neither am I. I believe that it is a composition problem in scoring for C/B. I do love that they did a lot of homework in being authentic to the different styles of dance and really seemed to be social dancing and genuinely enjoying themselves. Not sure if it translates to points. The Canadians have a more cohesive RD with more memorable highlights. It also felt like C/B were feeling the effects of jet lag perhaps. I agree with whoever said they looked a bit tired or subdued - particularly Evan. It felt like Madi brought her energy down a bit to match him. I think the scores are right and fair.

Tell that to Piper herself. She is a fashion student and designed their outfits.

Also P/P MiStW3/MiSM3 vs C/B MiStW2/MiSM3, I think either Madi or Evan always get marked down here because of their height difference. It must be hard to make it match every time - either Evan has to cut his power or Madi has to push to the limit to match his bigger stride. It doesn't mean either is bad, just that matching for them is a bit more challenging, hence the choice to pick up points elsewhere to make up for this issue since you can't grow or shrink either one of them. A hairs difference between the two teams though that could change with each skate.

That's is lucky, to me yet remains 3 hours and go to home. If i disappear is because end my lunch time and back to my desk.

Go Phebe and James!!! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

The Beatles in all their expression!! Very modern and great , choreo steps and pattern dance steps with a lot personality and that rotational lift, wow!! Impressive really .. that what i call personality extended
