2025 U S.Nationals Senior Women's Free Skate

Even making Top 10 will be a good result for Sonya, but I will remember this program, and I know there are many that I won't recall at all. Like everyone who has gone so far, for example.

So, good for her for entertaining me.

Sonja was amazing. I love that she chose to tell us a story and every move she made matched the haunting music and made us see skating in a different way. She opened up the possibilities for story-telling, spinning, sliding, jumping and choreography. Superb! She deserves all the accolades we can give. She is one of a kind.

Joey is so fast on the ice, she has really great skating skills, and where a lot of junior skaters would struggle with this difficult music, she does it justice with her attention to the music and performance. There were a lot of tight landings tonight, which will hurt her GOE, and she'll also get some rotation calls, but considering she had pneumonia last week (!), this was a truly superhuman effort.

Josephine is a tall skater and has a lot of potential. I was a bit underwhelemed when I saw her in person. She doesn't really produce the speed that those legs are capable of. However, I do see her as a skater who will continue to improve with time. She just needs more power and more confidence in the basic skating and in the jumps. A lot of those jumps were a bit under, will they call them? She always gets called internationally.

Still great job given her health condition.
