Here is the thread where you can make your predictions for the Canadian Championships.

Entries/Results Page:
http://skatecanada.ca/event/2016-canadian-tire-national-skating-championships/

The competitions start on 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] January 2016 at 12:15 AST (16:15 GMT) with the Ladies SP.

So, the target time to get your predictions in is 1 hour before that, i.e. 11:15 AST (15:15 GMT)

But, we will be accepting predictions for each category right up to the start of that category's Short Programme.

If you need any help working out what time this is where you are, here is the Time Converter that Mrs. P has been very kindly directing us to the past couple of years.

EDIT: Here are the Bios I have used for couples that have changed partners since they last competed internationally.

Dance

Philippe GRANGER (with Jade ROBITAILLE for CAN)
Danny SEYMOUR (with Lauren COLLINS for CAN)

EDIT (20[SUP]th[/SUP] January 2016): I am so sorry! I don't know how I managed to do it without noticing at the time, but I had Alaine CHARTRAND's name linking to Véronik MALLET's ISU Bio. But, it's fixed now. Sorry again. :slink:

Let the fun begin!!!

I'm only going to do men cause that's my fave.

Realisticlly I'm thinking:

1. Patrick Chan (Tradition coming back of him winning)
2. Nam Nguyen
3. Kevin Reynolds
4. Elladj Balde
5. Nicholas Nadeau
6. Keegan Messing
7. Roman Sadovsky

Though in my dreams Kevin is at the #1 spot. But that won't happen unless Patricks BOMBS and Nam messes up. And that's me being an honest fan.

LADIES:

1. Chartrand (rooting for her! love her SP so much, hope she can finally have a good FS)
2. Osmond
3. Daleman
4. Mallet
5. Zhao
6. Rheault

PAIRS:

1. Duhamel/Radford
2. Seguin/Bilodeau
3. Iliushenkina/Moscovitch
4. Moore-Towers/Marinaro
5. Bell/Swiegers
6. Grenier/Deschamps

DANCE:

1. Weaver/Poje
2. Gilles/Porier
3. Paul/Islam
4. Paradis/Ouellette
5. Orford/Hill
6. Collins/Firus

For dance?

1. Weaver/Poje (undisputed, and here's hoping the judges aren't stingy)
2. Gilles/Poirier (very likely, and here's hoping the scores reflect what they do, and doesn't have their own G/P boost)
3. Paul/Islam (likely, but could be 2nd with killer performances and marks reflecting what's actually skated, or 4th if they don't do so well)
4. Orford/Hill (possible, and could be 3rd with really strong performances and not so good performances from P/I)

5. Too close to call. Could be anyone of Paradis/Ouellette, Poulin/Servant, DelMaestro/Lum, Collins/Firus, Soucisse/Tanguay

For pairs?

1. Duhamel/Radford (undisputed)
2. Seguin/Bilodeau (quite possible, but they will need to skate it to get it)
3. Iliushenkina/Moskovitch (could be 2nd or 3rd, depending on how they skate)
4. Moore-Towers/Marinaro (this one is looking pretty solid)

5. Definitely a wild card spot. Personally, I think this could be any one of Grenier/Deschamps, Bell/Sweigers or Rau/Arcieri

For men?

1. Chan (he still is the class of the field, and he often skates better at home)
2. Nguyen (he's nipping at Patrick's heals if Patrick isn't clean enough)

3. Any one of Balde, Messing, Reynolds, or Sadovsky

For ladies?

Haven't got a clue. 1 and 2 are toss ups between Osmond and Daleman. Not sure about the rest.

It has been a long time since we have had so many possibilities in each category as to who will make the 4CC and World teams. Quite often in Canada it was a done deal as to whom would be tops. In ladies it is a crap shoot for the top 3 spots - and only 2 get to go to worlds. In men I am pretty sure Chan will win but the other spots are up for grabs. Although Canada is one Nationals where they do not mind marking the favorite down. After all that is how Chan won his first Can title. And Phanuff won her 1st title out of nowhere upsetting Jennifer and Joannie.

MEN
1. Chan
2. Nguyen
3. Nadeau
4. Balde
5. Firus
6. Reynolds

WOMEN
1. Kaetlyn Osmond
2. Gabrielle Daleman
3. Alaine Chartrand
4. Veronik Male
5. Selena Zhao
6. Kim Deguise-Levilee

PAIRS
1. Duhamel/Radford
2. Seguin/Bilodeau
3. Ilyuschechkina/Moscovitch
4. Moore-Towers/Marinaro
5. Grenier/Deschamps

DANCE
1. Weaver/Poje
2. Gilles/Poirier
3. Paul/Islaim
4. Orford/Hill
5. Paradis/Ouelette
6. Delmaestro/Lum

Not gonna lie, sorta guessed for the last couple pairs/dance spots. I've seen little of those couples.

My thoughts:

Dance:

1. Weaver/ Poje
2. Gilles/Poirier
3. Paul/Islam

I have no idea about the next few spots. All I know is that it will be a crapshoot to make the national team.

Ladies:

1. Chartrand I don't think she'll try 3A here.
2. Osmond
3. Daleman

4. Mallet
5. Zhao if healthy ( clearly was not at the challenge as she only attempted lutz and salchow when she clearly has a full set of triples ). Best choice for JW spot.

6. Deguise-Leveillee - sorry but Rheault has not skated her FS well all season. Rheault has not even come close to executing her limited jump content in the FS.

Men

1. Chan

2. Nam "spicy" Nguyen

3. Firus - put him here because he tends to skate his best at nationals and he is at least rotating ( if not the best landings) the quad consistently now.

4. Nadeau - been consistent all year -most likely will get JW.

5. Balde - if he skated his best ( ie Nebelhorn ) could even be high as 2nd but he tends to get sloppy at nationals.

6. Reynolds - not bad challenge considering he just came back from surgery. Will do enough to get a senior B.

7. Sadovsky - Just not enough jump content

8. Messing - just too messy

Pairs

1. Duhamel/Radford
2. Seguin/Bilodeau

3. Moore-Towers/Marinaro
4. Iliuschekina/Moskovitch

5. Grenier/Deschamps
6. Bell/Swiegers
