So - because I don't know who else to ask :) Why doesn't the US ever send anyone to the World Cup series? I know they did send Jade and Stephen when it was a qualifier for the Olympics, but it seems like sending some of our younger athletes (or the elites working their way back) would be a good way to get them international experience.

It's rare that they do and I have no clue why. Do you know how to WATCH World Cup? I used to get it on the Olympic Channel:(

Katelyn's beautiful spoken word. This was part of the GOAT tour also.

I don't. Olympic channel is where I used to watch. We switched from YouTube TV to Hulu when YTTV lost the Mets. :(. I can't seem to find it anywhere now.

I was wondering if they were on the Youtube channel. I'll have to look some day. Losing the Olympic channel was terrible.

I tried to look today....all I can find is very short highlight clips.

OK, I looked further, and they do have some full event replays...but they're very old worlds.

The Olympic website has replays...but they're of the Olympics, obviously.

what do you guys think of the womens World team? I haven't watched selections yet, but I'm surprised Chiles and Carey didn't make it.

I'm not surprised. I didn't watch, but I followed a couple of live blogs. Jordan and Jade didn't have great nationals/selection camps. I think they need a little more time to get back to elite. Jade, apparently, was offered Pan Ams, but declined because it conflicts with her sister's wedding - hence Swiss Cup. Jade was injured at nationals, apparently. I still think I would have sent her to Worlds over Joscelyn, but I can understand their choice.

I'm happy for Simone Biles with FIG confirming that her Yurchenko Double Pike on vault will have a 6.4 DV! Woohoo, at least she wouldn't get screwed like what she got with the Biles dismount on beam.

I hear Swiss Cup pays well.

(Also - good lord gymnastics twitter is nasty - people are SO mean it makes me sick.)
it seems this is quite a big problem across multiple sports, but moreso ones that are more aesthetic like gymnastics and figure skating. i think back to when i competed in the 2000s and i had a big enough problem with my self worth, body dysmorphia, disordered eating etc; i couldn't imagine how hard it is today with social media and people literally giving you death threats. people are absolutely awful.

Yeah - I was a professional actor/dancer for a long time and had terrible body issues and disordered eating. I really cannot imagine what these young folks go through. I guess gym twitter isn't so different from skating twitter sometimes, but it does feel particularly nasty to me.

The thing I like about Twitter is that I can curate what I want to see, for the most part. So I follow skaters and former skaters/gymnasts, podcasts I like (not TSL)🤮 and I just generally don't see things like what you're talking about.

Woohoo! Simone Biles does it again - and successfully got the Yurchenko double pike named after after women's qualifications!

i just want to say it is so freaking awesome she came back for the AA and is doing the best gymnastics of her life, especially after i thought she was done after Tokyo. i really thought she had moved on and if in the small chance she did return, she would be a specialist. what a queen.
