2017-2018 State of S. Korean Figure Skating

:sad21: it's heartbreaking to see Jun Kwan's sad face, but he tried, and he tried hard. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger, as long as he have good rest and train well after that, I have faith in him that he will come back stronge! He got time before GP start.

Yujin's free was a real surprise, very energetic and really well choreographed, the step sequence are awesome.

The competition was extremely painful..Praying for Junhwan, Nahyun, and Soyoun to have a speedy recovery and for them to put this competition behind them to focus on the long road ahead.

On a positive note, I was floored by all the beautiful costumes.:points: Almost all of them were on point. Some of my faves below and I would have put more in if I could find more pictures. Blessed with all the photos of them.

Eunsoo:

She straight-up looked like an idol in her EX costume.:drama: I admit I like the colors on her FS outfit more than her SP outfit, but the FS one slightly scandalizes me because she's so young, but it's gorgeous.:con2: The bun she has for her SP is so cute too.

LOVE that red color. I really like flowy sleeves so I like them, but it feels a bit too free flowing? I also liked the design of her SP outfit, but can't for the life of me find pics at the moment.:frown:

Dabin:

I'm in love with her SP costume. The green is a pleasant lime that suits her more than the green from La La Land last season and the sleeves are to die for. I also love how they're connected to her thumbs. Ethereal and a perfect match for her SP.

Soyoun:

The colors to her SP dress are just stunning. Black with blue has always been a favorite combo of mine and she pulls it off amazingly. The arms are what really bring everything together for me though I've seen some opinions that it's too much. Love the head piece too!

Sunghoon

GORGEOUS GRADIENT FOR HIS FS outfit. SP outfit was very dashing too.

Lee Sang Bong deserves a gold medal for his design. The back is beautiful with the intricate flower pattern and the sparkles on the back of it which I believe are supposed to represent the Milky Way makes for such a phenomenal design. Absolutely perfect for The Planets FS. The deep blue color is also just so so so gorgeous.:luv17: I pray he'll have a glorious FS wearing it when he's fully recovered from his injury.

Jun Kwan's LP and Dabin's SP costumes are my favourite :agree:
Your interpretation about the Milky Way could be correct! It's does give that feeling! A shining line of stars in the dark universe

Junior Ladies: Eunsoo Lim 2nd (177.25), Yelim Kim 3rd (176.05). I'm not feeling Rika Kihira having higher PCS than Eunsoo, and almost being almost 5 points up than Yelim lmao. Rika had clean 3A though :2thumbs: Good job to girls, having two compatitions in row is never easy.

Protocols: http://www.hksu.org/event/aofst2017/aofst2017_JuniorLadies_FS_Scores.pdf

Pairs: Kim Siblings were 1st in SP and 3rd in FS and won the whole competition, congrats! :luv17:

I give major props to all skaters that attended. Two competitions in 1 week is not easy to do.

Congratulations to Hanul Kim for finishing third at the Philadelphia Summer Championships this weekend!

Eun Soo is such a charming performer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7iAw3MK3Yw I think that's how I started to notice her last year.

That was terrific!! Wow!

Love the whole package (hair, costume, expressions) It is a testament how hard she has worked over the summer! She looks like a different skater, more seasoned and polished and really seems to have enjoyed herself out there.

Is Eun Soo old enough to compete at coming Olympics? So nice to see so many promising young Korean skaters coming up.

Rika's 3A (first rectified this season?) is pretty amazing, another wow! Looks like i better pay attention to the Asian youngsters! Super impressive!!

No, she's not age eligible yet. I imagine we will see her skate in the Exhibition at the Olympics.

the surname An is common in Korea however her first name is more Chinese in pronunciation. The audience also speaks Chinese and the skating rink is in Shanghai.

Great skating quality at her age with great potential in the future no matter what country she represents

Some of those spin positions in the layback were both "WOW" and "OMG ouch please don't destroy your back at such an young age!" :eeking:

So if I'm correct these are the current entries for JGP for the Korean ladies so far that I've managed to find.

1 - Australia: Su been Jeon, Eun bi Ko
2 - Austria: Eunsoo Lim, Ji yun Lee
3 - Latvia: Yunkyung Kam, Hyun soo Lee
4 - Belarus: Yelim Kim
5 - Croatia: You Young
6 - Poland: Eunsoo Lim
7 - Italy: You young, Yelim Kim

Yunkyung has another assignment, but I don't know where they're putting her. I kind of wish they were sending her to Australia though.
