and patrick said.. :"jumping is not my strength, skating is"
this is exactly what i have been saying all along... he is putting wrong words in his head...
and on top of that.. these words are lies... Patrick has gorgeous jumps... they are textbook, have nice ice coverage, are usually very well in the air... and finally, he won his world titles with these quads...
please patrick do not believe your own silly words.. you are definitely one of the greatest jumpers ever... nobody has your 4t-3t.. your 3 flip is gorgeous.. i could go on and on....

I know that I wrote in the summer and I came back recently saying that I would be active again in the forum, but my new work does not allow me to follow this thread as much as I would like.

I am happy because I could see Patrick's SP and I have bittersweet sensations.
On the one hand, I'm thrilled by the wonderful program, on the other hand, I'm very sad because I will never see Pat in live.
The short program is elegant, beautiful and leaves me breathless. I liked the song Patrick had chosen but honestly I did not think it was easy to skate, but Patrick makes it so easy that the program is simply a masterpiece.

Same for me. I thought my life would be less stressful after my final exams but it got worse with all that new additional work now! But at least I come here once a day, like your comments and see what Patrick is up to.
I felt so sorry for Patrick about his luggage. Once Air Bulgaria had sent my suitcase to Basel, Switzerland instead of Hannover, Germany
They needed almost 2 weeks to find it and sent it back. I am glad he got his stuff that fast. His costume/shirt is perfect :luv17: I like that color and glossy fabric. It highlights his beautiful carrige, back, arms and chest. But is not distracting. I hope for something similar for his FS. And I have to admit, I still like DITW more than Halleluja (wich still is stunning
) I love that stop in the second half bevor „Now,...don’t hang on...“ love it, love it!!

Weibo reported what Patrick said at the press conference afterwards, how he hadn’t felt good st morning practice and how Air Canada and Westjet found his luggage.

今天早上训练不太顺利，感觉不好，可能是因为旅途劳顿，还有些心神不宁，练习中也没有做后外点冰四周，因此对于晚上的比赛没有什么期待。今天还是有些失误，但并不因此难过，考虑到之前几天经历的一切，很高兴自己证明了自己能够克服困难做到今天这样。
自己是一个有时需要“跟着感觉走”类型的运动员，今天自己的身体告诉自己，如果做四周跳，从肌肉感觉到发力时机，状态都不理想，因此决定不加入任何四周。但是自己也知道有时候这是个弱点。今天比赛前觉得就听天由命吧，把关键的技术做好就可以。

The morning practice didn't go too well and didn't feel good. Maybe it's because of the stress from the travel and also my unsettled mind, I didn't do the 4T during practice and so I didn't have high expectation for tonight. There were mistakes today, but I'm not too upset. Considering what happened these last few days, I'm glad I could overcome the difficulties to have done what I did. I'm the kind of athlete who goes with the feelings. Today my body told me if I attempted quads, the muscles just didn't feel right at time of activation, so I decided not to include any quad (at practice). At competition time, my feelings were whatever happens happens. I just need to execute the necessary technical skills well."

Just finished watching his dress rehearsal. I really like his new costume. Interesting, in fact the top is similar to something I would wear...
Okay, who here guessed that he would have two new costumes right off the bat? I think it was a hint when he emphasized that his costumes were in the lost luggage. And ironically, fans on Twitter were telling him to just go buy a T-shirt or sweater, because you didn’t watch him for his costumes....

No worries. He needs to be reminded of his own strengths from time to time, especially in these tough competitive times.

guys... this is what i was worried about... miss one element... focus is gone... that's what happens when "you wanna be perfect" it's an impossible task for any performer ... there is always a detail that is not perfect.... it could even be just a shallow edge... and done.....
I feel bad for Patrick... but perhaps it's better that it happens here than later....
but I think we need to forget about GPF.... it doesn't give us a lot of opportunities to see him skate...
Skate Canada should send him to a Senior B to just get some more mileage.
