2018 US Championships Sr. Ladies FS

I hate the scoring system sometimes. High tech does not mean High PCS... it is just an obvious way of putting someone where you want them, rather than what they deserve, in many cases.

That's an incredibly lame excuse. I see Nathan's face everywhere much more than hers & I can't imagine him whining about missing training time.

I think it has taken a toll on Nathan. He is having consistency issues. I also think more was asked of Ashley because Gracie stepped aside and the ladies event is a marquis event for sponsors.

I think Mirai will do very well at the Olympics.

She and Sakamoto are gonna change the ladies' skating in the next 4 years.

TBH the one I'm most disappointed about is Angela...I was hoping that she at least landed top 6 to get a very good shot at 4CC...she might still get it with Starr but I'm not sure.

She won silver 2 years ago and no one can honestly say that Ashley in 2017-2018 season is as good as she was at 2016 Worlds.

AND, without Gracie Gold and other FS meltdowns she really was at a big disadvantage after the SP. She skated well but could only medal at that competition if others screwed up.

I honestly think Karen was the most held up skater of this competition :slink:

I guess that 4th place at last years worlds carries far more weight then the many many underrotated jumps and poor results she displayed this season :confused2:

We may have uncovered the BV of giving dirty looks to the judges in the KnC :slink:

We have another Rachel Flatt as National Champion.
she reminds me more of early Kimmie Miesner. Lanky jumping bean with great consistency but not amazing artistry. Worked out well for Kimmie at Worlds 2006. Not that I think Bradie will win Worlds this year, but I think too 5 is a possibility.

It’s more that the USFSA is trying to send a message to the world. “We have a new girl! Technically sound like those little Russian girls! She WON our championships.” Having mirai win tonight wouldn’t send that message. The usfsa is really trying to push for bradie.

Why? Place her side by side with any of the elite talent and it'll be apparent how weak she is by comparison, no one will be fooled. She's fighting for 6th place at best, most likely 9th anyway. Just score her fairly.

The Wagner situation reminds me of the two years Abbott was pushed off the world team, in the sense the PCS scoring wouldn't be replicated in any international comp.

Exactly... the same crap over and over... it is stupid, political, federation meddling and and nothing to do with what went on the ice. Let them skate, treat them with respect, mark them equally, consistently, no preferences.

And they threw her a basket of carrots.
Karen's pcs should have been 10 points higher than ashley for way superior skating skills

LOL Totally.

Same. Tbh, I still think they shouldn't send Bradie, doesn't matter that she won. On an international stage she's nothing. Ashley stands more of a chance. (along with Mirai and Karen)

They did send Polina 4 years ago instead of Mirai. So this time they have to send Tennell instead of Ashley.

What goes around, comes around.

If the USF wouldn't pretend the Nationals was Olympic trials they could just score people fairly and just choose whoever they want without having to politic everything.
