Women's FS - 2022 Olympics: Thoughts?

For Sasha it seems being Russian is deterimental to her. If it were a competitor from any other country who did 5 quads the judges would have lost their minds and scored her off the scale.
The judges did score her off the scale yesterday. 177.13 is a huge score, close to the world record which Kamila set with a perfect skate, and she won the free here. Her PCS mark was completely absurd. 8.57 for transitions for a program which barely had any. One of the judges gave her 9.75 for skating skills which is a complete joke. She was less than half a point behind Kaori in skating skills is also absurd. She got plenty of GOE for the jumps she landed well.

She only knows one thing in her mind right now: Her life as she knew it is OVER. From now on her life will NEVER be the same. She needs her loved ones to surround her and prevent any attempts on her part to end her life. The F.B.I. is now going to investigate her entire team, and all involved.
This investigation can only be done in Moscow.
Looking forward to see ppl in FBI t-shirts in Crystal rink doing something.

3 AM? Didn’t the event end around 10 PM local time? What were they doing there for 5 hours later? Eteri was trying to get Sasha to leave the whole time? Or did that include the press conference and other things?

First off thanks to those who were posting here live during the event!!! I forgot how fun it is to watch live figure skating and comment with the GS Gang

Let’s get right into it.....I’d be hard pressed to call Sasha’s reaction a tantrum. I have survived some pretty notable ice rink tantrums firsthand so maybe I’ve grown immune to them. IMO it looked like she tried to find some personal space and once cornered ultimately gave her coaches a piece of her mind. I’m surprised more people didn’t actually enjoy seeing team ET getting roasted so publicly.

Anyway I suspect no one here can possibly understand the true depth of the emotion Sasha was experiencing and just exactly how long it had been building up inside. I know if I’d have had a coach like Eteri and someone followed me around with cameras you’d see me firing off something similar at some point

My off topic advice for Sasha...go ahead and quit skating. Anna Gasser just won her second Olympic gold medal and she didn’t even start snowboarding until the age of 17 after a gymnastic background 👀. Russia needs a snowboard queen and I think Sasha has earned a much more chilled out environment like that currently in and around Sochi to rest her soul and still quench the fire that lives inside to achieve maxim air rotations.

Anyway......

I actually enjoyed most of the performances I saw and enjoyed seeing so many personal Olympic moments being had out there but nothing warmed my soul as much as seeing Gubanova yet again performing to the absolute highest level she has to offer. I just thought we’d never see this amazing girl get a chance to go to have an Olympic moment no matter how good she got or how deserved one could argue on her behalf.

I’m not scarred from this event and there is much I will remember. . It’s like I’m married to this sport...for better or for worse 😂 🏂 ✌️

What we just watched was horrible.
A bunch of bullies broke a 15 years old and we watched it in real time.
Journalists, MOC & ISU (because yeah, presumption of innocence is not a thing, lets punish everybody), internet trolls.

Hope all the bullies burn in hell.

Shame. Shame. Shame.
Embarrassing.

Blame the child abusers, not the people calling them out.

Of course, they disagreed. No surprise there.

I was surprised- yet not- that the IOC president commented. It’s rare- but this has made headlines everywhere. And they’re all bad.

These responses are spot on.

It's rare or unheard of for the president of the IOC to make this kind of statement against someone involved in the games. He's as well connected as anyone with information. My guess is the sword of damocles is hanging over Eteri's head.

they have dropped her. after the most difficult week of her short life her team has abandoned her. she is a nobody to them after this. she "failed" them.

it speaks volumes this came from the head of the IOC. i hope there will be no more TT after this. Eteri doesn't deserve to coach another day in her life.
