2025-26 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 5 - Omsk

The music and choreo is so elegant and when he's on, his jumps are so straight in the air. Every comp is different, but he has the best chance of an olympic medal as any Russian man in a very, very long time. I'll be a nervous wreck during the competition.
When he's on he's fantastic. We just have to stand up and clap.
All the performances that got him 200+ are impressive. Overscored or not, those programs are stellar.

Petr: his jumps look better (not sure how many quads he did in the end, did he get his 5?) and he had a very elegant skating.

His scores are pushed to the sky and further away, we already discussed this :p, but he did skate well and of course deserved to win here, so congrats to him!

All I'm saying is the forum clowned me for suggesting he could score 290 internationally, and this would have been in the 290s. It is enough to podium without requiring the favourites to bomb. It was the debate and I was right. It is also a fact that the debate over Dikidzhi is finished.
He got 38.96 & 80.05 PCS in Beijing. So it's reasonable to assume that he won't score 290 internationally.

The discussions were natural, because normally both would go, and, tbh, there are more skaters in Russia who perform great compared to the international average. The odds are always stacked against each individual entry, however, so taking this damn Olympic deal was already a huge risk and against athletes as a whole. Anyway, I hated it and I continue to hate this Oly deal.

We both know well he would not get that PCS for these skates. You can take 10 points off his score for PCS (which is a lot since I am sure he would fair more than 3 points better total with these skates than qualifications) and another 10 points for calls (which he got in the FS) (you said he would be 95 internationally for the SP and we already took off PCS) (I'm not even convinced they would put q's for his SP based on his qualification scoring) and he is still in the 290s. This is a harsh estimate.

Come on. You do not think he would score 280s internationally for this skate.

In fact, I'm already tired of all these discussions. Even Malinin may not make it into the free because of nerves. It's men's skating.
Exactly. Chen made it to the free in his first olys because of his flag and fed's favorite position.

It might either be Sochi or Beijing Olympics. We new know.
For Petya i hope it will be Sochi so he can have the late Denis Ten moment
No, seriously, i hope it will be Beijing, or even better, like 2017 worlds. Every skater worked hard for this moment. I just hope Petya will skate clean and leave no regret on ice.
