Please no! When I first found out that lyrics were going to be allowed, my first thought was: "Great, more Michael Buble!" :slink:

Wow, Jeffrey Buttle should establish some sort of choreography school and pass those skills on, there's not enough of him for everybody.

too early. they still have two and half months before the season will start. It's time to admire how gorgeous Vera is. And how classic they look in the short pr. and how unconventional is their music choice in the free pr.

Has anyone heard anything about Ashley's sp..? I almost hope she also does a tango and we get a true matchup between her and Gracie 😂😂 Although I would also really like her to do something a little darker/heavier/impactful this season. Last seasons short did absolutely nothing for me.

I could get down with an Ashley vs Gracie Tango SP battle! Ashley's SP last year was ok, but I personally preferred her Pink Floyd SP. It was something a bit different, though I'm not sure the judges were ever entirely on board with it.

Oh, silly me! I misread! I remember being quite sleepy at the time, but still... (slaps forehead)

They do look beautiful on the ice together. But I'm not thrilled about the music choices tbh.

I didn't hear about Brezina...I thought he planned to work with Salome again?

Javier Raya:

SP choreographed by Joey Russell - "Saturday Night Fever"
FS choreographed by Antonio Najarro - "music by Ara Malikian and Fernando Egozcue"

it was at icenetwork article
This coming season, Buttle will help Farris and Adam Rippon with their free skates and also plans to collaborate with Michal Březina and several skaters from Japan, including assisting world silver medalist Satoko Miyahara with her exhibition routine

also picture from his instagram

they dont mention the extent of colloboration though, he might help polishing?

I have mixed feeling about Hanyu's Seimei after hearing it and just watched the gala version.. it is one of those ideas that looks good on paper, but after hearing it and seeing it I thought "darnn... why does it sound like a OLD Tsui Hark Hong Kong Wuxia movie of the late 80s/90s". Some rip off sounding stuff going on there...not a great piece of music or program I dare say. Hanyu better bring some supernatural psychedelic power to do it justice. At the moment the program looks rather generic, looks like the choreographer/skater have problem relating/communicating with the music/subject. Anyone know who choreographed it? Hope the short program is better. ]

I think the competition version will look a lot different with the added minute and a half and on a standard size rink.

Positives. BEST COSTUME FOR A VERY LONG TIME!!! Johnny/Hanyu Mum better leave this one alone.

:laugh2: I totally agree!

He goes...wacky with his free skating costumes (though R+J1.0 was okay...). Chopin was nice, Parisienne was nice... But yes, Seimei costume is very, very nice and intriguing.

I'm not sure what is Liza trying to do with her FS  The last 30 seconds work splendidly, but the first minute or so was just weird, the choreography didn't seem to have anything to do with the music at all! And the lyrics part didn't seem to suit her at all, either...

Elizaveta Tuktamisheva
LP Edvard Grieg - Peer Gynt
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv1ksm-emf4

Kavaguti/Smirnov
LP February
https://vk.com/shkolapetra?z=video189012844_171477091/82a3b1ab6b413b3273

Alexandr Petrov
SP Raul Di Blasio La leyenda del beso - Amor de hombre

Andrey Lazukin
SP Turandot

Elizaveta Nugumanova
SP Winter waltz by E.Doga

Petr Gumennik
SP Mariza - Imre Kalman

Well...I am not thrilled by Elizaveta's (Tuktamysheva) program at all. I think this music is just not good for her style. She does the same moves like she did in her Bolero program, but this is not Bolero. Not a good choice IMO. But it is still just July and she has plenty of time to improve everything. For the second Liza(Nugumanova) I think there shouldn't be any problem. She is still just novice at the international level and this music will suite her very well. I like the choice.
Kavaguti/Smirnov already skated February in 2012/2013 season. I think the costume is same as well? Or similar to some another costume? I don't know. But I like it.
Didn't Alexander Petrov already skated to this music? Or someone else?

Yeah hopefully it will be changed still =S Imho it looks pretty weird until the last 30 seconds =S

On the other hand, K/S have some interesting stuff in their LP. Although i still cannot forgive them for not keeping Manfred.

i agree about Liza's programs, i saw movements not just from Bolero but her LP and her EX as well and it didnt make sense with the music, i wonder how much of it was Lambiel's idea and how much they changed the movements because it was challenging (which is understandable since they have very ambitious layout but still ) because i remember reading Mishin's interview and he was implying a change of choreo, i wish her good luck

Why do they bother employing choreographers if they are going to change everything anyway? I am genuinely confused by the thought process here.

Precisely. Utter waste of time. Unless their reasons have absolutely nothing to do with actual choreography.
