So is SALSA for Ashley's short program

To be precise, samba is the word that Ashley used in this morning's tweet. The two words are not interchangeable, AFAIK?

When I see how Mishin is coaching Eliza, I really get the sense that the older skating coaches in Russia just don't get CoP. Like, doing a second 3-axel isn't even worth the while. Are they unable to do arithematics or what?

And never mind the awful music cuts and awful cultural tastes.

And Liza's skating is baaaaaddd. She seems to be stumbling across the ice.

Tukts program is an eyesore from what I can see of it. Why is she always waving her arms around like an octopus and wiggling her hips? I almost expected her to start belly dancing on the ice. She looks like she's skating an alternate version of last years LP to new music.

She had belly dance moves last year that i caught.

If her skating is so "bad," what does that say about the rest of the ladies' field? Why aren't all those skaters with superior SS and COP-savvy coaches capable of beating her?

It's much too early to say what Elizaveta's program will be like in the end. -Waiting, and hoping to see it develop more cohesion. It will look better at competition, I'm sure.

Quite excited by any Samba program on ice... also the sexy costumes, and Shaelynn sounds like an amazing choreographer for it. It looks like Ashley's answer to Gracie's Shake it up. Booty/S@ss off, and it will be when attitude is a must! and will make her stood out vs other little jumping beans.

Although it has to be said Isadora's William's Brazilian LP last year did contain some fab Samba bits, pity she never skated that program to its potential.

ikr... i usually try to keep mum buy boy...sometimes the sense of superiority from some is baffling
I guess not everyone has this amazing taste to admire the 'all around skaters & true artists' like Patrick Chan for example or millions of princess skating that seems to be considered artistic around these parts :think:

wish Liza all the best. Now I see why they're still undecided. She has her own style & u should be very creative & gentle to find that balance of doing something new but to make it fit her.
They have time & hopefully it will become much more coherent & flow more like the last part. The 1st two were like aimless skating around the rink to me but I sure will have faith in the camp as always.

Wish K/S kept Manfred though if they decided to keep a programm.
SP still looks like a EX but I warmed up to it. feels airy & fit them very much.

I'm pretty excited for Ashley's samba SP. If she delivered "Samson and Delilah" energetically then she can deliver samba just as energetically.

Meanwhile, I am honestly very disappointed in Liza's FS. Although I'm not a big fan of hers, her FS last year showed that she can really sell a program and make it look good. The choreography of this new FS is simply horrible. Like many of you said it basically just reuses the choreography from last season's programs. But I'm scared that Liza may hear people saying her new FS is bad. I kind of don't like it when people switch over to a previous season's program (unless it's a remake like Mao's Nocturne). But as I said, she did sell her program really nicely last season. Maybe if she's capable of doing it again like Carolina did Bolero and Ashley did S&D then it may be okay.

I'm starting to imagine Liza switching over to POTO/Carmen because of the hate :shocked::hopelessness:

It's not because I doubt her abilities to channel Carmen or do a good POTO program, it's just that it's too soon. I need to recover from last season.
