2018 Olympic Figure Skating Short Dance

I love P/C and I feel so so sorry about the wardrobe malfunction and very proud how she fought through her best despite it.
HOWEVER, it was far from their best performance, and it was definitely not a match to V/M's fabulous performance today. Giving it higher PCS than V/M is so very wrong. Really disappointed.

Agree. What a gift to the French. Fix is in. they will win FD with massive score. Giving them that joke of a score for THAT performance all but seals the deal........disgusting

why would anyone choose a costume that would have the remotest possibility of a failure like that?

Especially for the Olympics. "Is this dress likely to just fall off in the middle of my routine while the entire world is watching?" would be a primary costuming concern for me.

I missed completely the costume malfunction. At the same time, it seems to me they skated in their consistent way the entire program. The Italian team was the most entertaining for me.

Terry Gannon looks bored beyond his mind recapping the dance event.

OGM to be decided in approximately 10 minutes...

I spoke too soon!

Virtue/Moir: I think we can officially call them the best short dance skaters of all time. Should be ahead by at least 3 points.
Papadakis/Cizeron: This is a phenomenal team, but that was a bit of a hot mess. Very unfortunate costume issue, some of the worst twizzles I've seen from them all season, and moments during the lift exits and entrances seemed off. The fact that they still received higher PCS than Virtue/Moir is why many don't see ice dance as a real sport.
Hubbell/Donahue: Impressed by Zach's composure here. Finish it off in the free and get your bronze medal!
ShibSibs: Just lovely. I would probably have them third. Their free dance is their weak spot and it'll be hard for them to stay in the top 5.
Cappellini/Lanotte, Chock/Bates, Weaver/Poje: To think these teams were believed to be the top contenders in 2018 this time 4 years ago..
Bobrova/Soloviev: The fact that their PCS is above 30 is another reason why many don't see ice dance as a real sport.

Conventional wisdom said V/M had to be ahead by at least 2 points here to hold onto gold. They are ahead by 1.74. The judges seem to have no problem giving P/C the highest PCS marks regardless of what happens on the ice. Will all of the changes V/M have made since the GPF be enough eek it out?!

I just rewatched Tessa and Scott, their no touching steps is surreal, their edges and steps and turns are perfectly synchronised. Literally Olympic level.

I asked the same thing after Laurine Lecavelier's FS at Euros. But the same happened to Yura Min in the TE.

I think it's because the skaters don't practice enough in their costumes? Gabriella's was clearly redone. The coaching staff and management should really be held accountable for these kind of problems, in my opinion. But sometimes it's just a fluke. [emoji17]

Terry saying that the judges held up P/C in consideration of the malfunction so they could be in it for the free. When did Terry learn all of the figure skating secrets? Did Tanith plant that since she couldn't say it? :dev2:

H/D was way overscored in PE, IN and CO when their program has ZERO latin feel to it. They could have been skating to anything. No way that was better than the shibs. B/S and C/L benefited from skating in the last group especially C/L bigggg time. P/C score was the biggest wth/f in of the night. Sorry for the costume disaster but their PCS was a joke. Sure give them highest score in SS and TR but PE,IN and CO should be around 8 only

ugh, I am tired of seeing how many other teams are allowed to mess up their programs getting high scores, but Maia and Alex need fight for each damn point as if their lives depend on it. I can not wait for them to retire so I can retire with them from this joke.

Sad, but very true.
