I had understood ... But let's say you're a judge and you gave 6 to MF.. how do you not give 5 to uliana? You got to do so. It is why we cannot compare scores from different events. Top skaters had byes at challenge. If they give 7s to uliana, they'll need to give what to Maddie?
And see, that's what I used to think too - As long as judging is consistent within a competition it's all fine, right? But then I saw the reaction of Juniors on the JGP who were suddenly held to very different standards and left completely confused and heartbroken why their scores were so much lower than expected, and after that, I had no more interest in defending inconsistent judging across competitions.

Yes, it's the current reality, but the IJS was supposed to allow judges to score consistently across competitions and even age levels, as the criteria don't change even if the skaters competing change. If Uliana is deserving of 5s in PCS, then she should be getting them regardless of whether or not her competitors deserve 7s or 4s.

That's a valid point. But in this event, her PCs are where they should be since judges have been stingy with others before her who clearly outperformed her in that sense.

:love2: Kaiya and her skating. There's something so natural and fluent about her expressing the music and the themes of her program.

I wouldn't call brown my favorite costume color, but this worked so beautifully, complementing her skin tones and going with her dark brown hair!
