The TV stream starts at 20:50 local time (so in 34 min) and will show some of the earlier groups during the second resurfacing. Might start a bit later if football runs late, but planned is 20:50.

Is Aljona here today? Hope not, because that was a mess and I wouldn't want these two to be on the receiving end of her ire directly after their skate.

I know it's a movie reference but those costumes hurt my eyes. Hers goes well with the new ISU logo though. Lifts are not lifting tonight.

Okay, so does anyone want to explain what's going on with all of these Irish and Scottish dance-inspired programs this season? In both ID and pairs.

I don't care how many times I've already heard this music this season, I enjoy it. But I wish the Polish team gave more performance to it... Throws were kinda a mess but some nice lifts.

I really like Ioulia and Michal but that was too messy for me to appreciate the program today. It's early in the season, so I'm expecting this to grow throughout and I'm sure they'll convince me in the end, but not yet today.
I don't know why, but maybe it's because of the Olympics. It's a risky choice, methinks. You can captivate the audience but your fire must match the music. For the Poles it did not work out so well.

Ok, I love my polish team but if they want to skate to Riverdance they need to be way faster. I think it's not the best music for pairs, it's very hard to compose pairs elements into this fast pacing rhytm, even the strongest teams would struggle. It's very challenging and I'm not sure olympic season is a good one to take that challenge. I would rather prefer them to focus on technical stuff right now.

Not perfect today, and still some kinks to work out, but they look comfortable with this for an early-season competition.
