Sorry, 4 judges gave it +3, I'm not going back to edit it
That the judges and they disagree with you.
It still a good jump despite sloppy landing.
Thank you.
I like you voice your exuberance and how you woukd have voted judge if you were in the judges place.

It's not UR or 'q' if you note how little pre-rotation he does.

I do agree it was overscored (would have gone +1 or +2), though, and do agree that if he weren't a world champ and favourite for the olympics, this would be called. That said, the 4Lz was not UR either, so...

Unpopular opinions coming, but know that I am not technically savvy.

I loved Chock/Bates. I feel like their long programs is Ice DANCING. I found that refreshing to see. All the dances were lovely (especially the white crow), but they didn’t seem like Dancing. Not sure how I feel about the skirt. It felt too long, and I am not sure the red was helpful. I think I liked her skirt better at nationals.

To me, it has seemed that for the last few months Ilia has been acting like he’s entitled to the gold, rather than earn it, as everyone must. He needed the jolt.

Yuma’s skate was breathtaking.

And I agree that the short program is superior to me. It shows off their technique as well as jumping ability. With all the quads out there. I think the judging SHOULD be harsh. I would rather seen cleanly executed triples and double before seeing a quad that is messy.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

I agree. I think Maddie's skirt should be shorter. I don't get why Chock & Bates would add a costume stress factor on top of everything they already need to do in the dance to skate it clean. If they want to continue skating with a big piece of fabric, the exhibition sheet dance is good enough  I just remember their tiny misstep error in the 2018 Olympics and hope that doesn't happen again ever. At least it's not something super nerve wracking like if her top became accidentally unhooked, like Gabby P had happen in the 2018 games...the "how do I keep skating without becoming partially nude before the audience and judges on international TV" kind of stress.

I agree with all (Yuma was magical) except I don’t think Ilia has been acting entitled to the gold. There’s just so much press on him that him answering questions asked of him comes off that way. However this was probably a good shakeup. Michelle Kwan used to say she’d prefer not to be leading after the short program. Always better to be an underdog chasing something.

Madison and Evan were Magical, Mesmerizing, Excellent and bringing out Emotions for viewers. Their lifts are like their skating -- smooth, flowing, showing the advances and synchronicity in their partnership.

I feel for folks who watch for only the speed of their twizzles and such. By the way, their twizzles are beautifully done to the music. (As are Marjorie and Zach's). I feel for folks who refuse to see that Madison and Evan are Dancing. That they're competing with themselves, bringing new excellence, flow, confidence and harmony each time they skate their programs anew.

Congratulations to Madison and Evan! Well Done!

That's not the landing point of the jump. Even if it was, it's no more than 'q' based on the initial angle of entry.

Who else thinks Japan is going to have some cut throat competition in ice dance for the next quad?
I doubt it. Maybe 8 years from now, but in just 4 years it's highly unlikely with their current field that a team will arise who are individual medal threats.

What a lovely team event. We've see such good skates by most. Stephen did so well! In both parts. Kudo's! And Matteo. What a skate. I just love it when skaters are pleased with themselves. Seeing Ilya land his back flip on one leg was also a highlight for me. Yay! So pleased that both Japanese men rode well, even though it just wasn't enough for Shun. But he had a good skate anyway. Sorry that Amber did not do as well as she can. But still. Good for Italy too (though I was in favour of both Italy and Canada). Good for Lara Naki, Sara and Niccolo too. Yay! What more can I say? I love the team event!

Congrats to USA, Japan, and especially Italy on home ice

The takeaway lesson for Japan here is that they need to stop neglecting ice dance. Send all your dance teams out and out, that's the only way to climb the ice dance rankings....

Especially now that they have promising teams in both seniors and juniors, they just need the international experience and reputation. If they want the team gold in 2030, they have to start sending them out from now. Hope losing the gold here will really fuel JSF to support ice dance 🤞

I’m glad that Shun wasn’t within a point or two of winning, because that second quad toe missed the bonus by a few seconds. The jump layout of that could have been better optimized.
