Is it really fair to compare a 14 year old junior’s 3A to that of the top senior ladies skater?

Everyone seems to be fine with comparing a 15 year old senior lady's 4Lz to that of a 22 year old senior man...so if that comparison is fine to make then its fine to compare a 14 year old's triple axel vs. a 16 year old's triple axel.

Exactly - Jumps should be criterion-referenced, not norm-referenced. If a skater meets the bullets for GOE points, then they should get them regardless of age or gender.

No, that misses the point. It isn’t a matter of scoring. It’s a matter of expectations. Juniors shouldn’t be criticized for not being as good as seniors—especially the top senior ladies skater.

Not criticizes but held to the same standards. It’s why juniors and senior should have discrepancies in their scores; GOE and PCS. The scale of value was created to make everything worth the same base value and then judged on how well it was executed.

Scoring a junior +3 for a jump that would get +1 in seniors isn’t logical and artificially inflates scores.
