I am highly tempted to call that the polar opposite of Choi's Les Miserables program.![]()
Can someone explain to me why So Youn's second 2a-3t was UR? It looked clean to me...

As opposed to all the great international programs Gracie has had right?
I wished I had Japanese TV to listen to Kevin's Japanese. It's a Herculean task to juggle between an elite sport and learning a foreign language to the fluent level, and it's another thing to speak that foreign language in front of a big crowd. Hats off to the guy.

:scowl:
They have to be joking. They gave that opening combination of Nagasu's?!
I put Gracie as the winner too!![]()
Did I miss those posts? I wasn't able to read all the comments, too busy watching the event, so maybe I did miss them.I personally think Red Violin is too sophisticated for most judges to appreciate to be honest... come on.. they much prefer something like Titanic and diCarpio drowning, or Phantoms, Les mis etc... alternatively, try Carmen, Firebirds, Swanlakes.

Protocals up. What is great is Marai got an edge call on the Lutz but no other deductions. Looks liked she's turned a corner on the rotation issue. Maybe she'll get 2 GP assignments next year.
I had Mirai in third in my predictions (and Gracie in 1st :0). I had to laugh at all the people who had Mirai out of the top six--behind Karen Chen, even.

It was quite clear to me that she was tracing a rapid curve on her way out... the blade angle is hard tell from the video, but with that kind of leg movement I'm not surprised that she got UR. Hope she fixes it by the World, I love her 2A+3T.

Why laugh at them? Most people seem to make their predictions based on how well the skaters have performed over the season, don't they? Mirai pulled off a Denis Ten, peaking at 4CC after a dismal season. Although she wasn't mistake-free. She's a classic example of what people around here are always saying -- that certain skaters have to depend on others to make mistakes in order to be on the podium.
I'm curious. Where are the posts expressing outrage that Satoko won the FS with no triple-triple jump?Did I miss those posts? I wasn't able to read all the comments, too busy watching the event, so maybe I did miss them.
Her highest GOEs were for the two 2A+3T jumps. Can anyone explain to me why repeating the same combination like that is okay?
I admired and even loved her SP, but today her tiny opening combination and pre-rotations, her careful skating and lack of connection -- the triumverate of skater, music and audience, especially after seeing Kaetlyn demonstrate that so thrillingly -- just left me cold. Something is seriously wrong with the judging and the system, when this kind of non-performance wins the gold.
Your words are a bit too harsh...
As for your question, Kana was very off today. She most likely had a couple of URs. And she also popped a jump which could be more costly than a fall.
