Me too!! It looks horrible.
It detracts from the performance
I would suggest putting in some sheer fabric the same color in the place. I understand there was some designer who created it but I think it would look a lot better and more cohesive if it was filled in. Their program is a bit too sophisticated for the average viewer and that will be noticeable in Boston wear Chock and Battes and Fear and Gibson will garner the public suppore=et I am guessing. I am curious if tthe audience will or can push CP over LaLa and the French? Can you imagine the third and fourth teams would have been an afterthought if the Danadians were eligible. They woud have been basicallly tied if it were not for that one bobble in the freedance. I wonder if Canada will switch them around for 4CCs?

You are so right!

But I still loathe Paul's backless jacket. ;)
;)
My initial reaction when friend sent me clips of FD practice at SCI was TRAGIC , I remember being totally defeated in a sense of potential deduction to be given for this etc., not as much from aesthetic perspective. Well, time passed and I got used to this look (I think the jacket fits way better now than at SCI which makes me like it more), as I just got used to their own quirks, one way or another.
And generally, the more I look back at me supporting them...I always have a critical lense here and there, thinking about what I would do differently, but mostly to "appease" judges (and general public) more - now I've grown to actually appreciate things that set them apart and make them as they are. They wouldn't be "my" Piper and Paul without these and as much as I want them to always win, I want them to be themselves more :).

Hopefully less injured. Peter pointed out all the bandages on Nadiia’s left knee. No wonder there were twizzle issues.
Apparently, Nadiia skated FD with freshly sprained knee. That makes National and Nice Challenger she skated injured which makes me just angry at the fate.
Athletes are troopers, I'd be too defeated to even step onto the ice, but I guess when you are half of a team it may be even more difficult from the perspective of not wanting to let down your partner...

She is such a trooper and she did it with a beaming smile. I guess victory was just to get to skate such a lovely program again.

Watched Piper and Paul's RD and FD again. Masterful and so intricate and expressive. They have the talent and vehicles to be World Champions this year.
I’ve rewatched their performances a few times now too and totally agree. When they skate with ease and freedom they are just so so good. They just need to get consistent levels and they could easily be world champions.

Nadiia and Peter really haven't transitioned to seniors how I expected. The teams they were similar to as juniors seem to be a fair way ahead now.
I thought their transition would have been easier too - maybe not as rapid as LaLa but better than what it has been, especially if you look at Czechs and Koreans. But they had a tough season this year with injury so they will hopefully come back stronger next year as this season seems like an anomaly for them. The Brits Bekker and Hernandez had a tougher year last year but seem to be doing better this year, so I would expect Nadia and Peter to have a similar trajectory. They have the talent.
